Ross Barkley

...not sure I'm reading it right, but looking at Opta stats for last season it appears to be saying young Ross scored 6 goals and had no assists. If true, the no assists is a concern for a player in that key position. Need to watch for improvement on that next season.

God he's boss!!

He excites me more than Rooney did!

Wayne was almost complete at 18. Where Ross could go onto from here is frightening!

I did tell you a couple of years ago that I thought that he could be as good as Zinidene Zedane and with Roberto to develop him he may well go on and achieve that level barring serious injuries.

He's still lacking a little confidence in himself in that he doesn't use his left foot as much as he is capable of doing so but I hope that will come into his game more this season.

We are lucky to have him in our team, let's make the most of it for the next few years.

An interesting stat - and very surprising if it's legit. I wonder if it's a manifestation of Bobby's plan to unshackle him of responsibility and allow him to express himself. The 'don't worry if you lose the ball' thing kind of encourages him to keep hold of it and maybe end with a shot on goal, as opposed to a pass.

Regardless, it's a strange stat.

Didn't Ross's win a pen for us last season with which we scored? Kind of an assist ;)

Took the Mirror 5 days before they started trying to sell Barkley again:

Both Manchester clubs had been expected to move for Barkley ahead of his new four-year Everton deal and Martinez hinted that he still expects the big guns to come knocking at some stage, saying: “We have a young man who is one of the best talents in English football.”

Except Martinez never hinted or said that at all.

We should just ban the Mirror from all our press conferences and interviews, that way they can't misquote Roberto and the players.

That newspaper literally has no shame.
