Ross Barkley

Same here mate nit sure it's the best move for him & I'm confident Moyes will agree - the goldfish bowl that is Glasgow is not where we should be sending a young talent like Ross.

Dave Jones & Sheffield Weds will get the nod ;)

He would get more game time then with us, tbh i think the SPL will be a bit of a walk in the park for Celtic they may rest a lot of players and play youthish teams in the league and have a right go at Europe.

That's true mate but Glasgow is mad house when it comes to football, as a learning experience it'd be a full on challenge for him, that's for sure!

Can be a god or vermon all in the same half hour - its a tough city, wont do him any harm. TBF Celtic give a lot of youngsters mins and more so this season, i reckon Barkley is better then any of the youngsters who have come into the first team this season.

Think he could benifit a lot from playing every week. He gave the ball away a couple of times last night and got caught in possession, I have saw him play really well a few times for the reserves, but its just another excuse for moyes not to play him.
Playing week in week out at a higher standard than the ressies will do him the world of good.

I'll be amazed if Moyes sanctions this mate it could go badly wrong

Rodwell gave the ball away once, against Southampton, they scored, he got slaughtered...

Ross Barkley is not ready, give him playing time? and we lose 10 points? He´ll get to play when he is ready to play... this is a hard world,, the PL... a single mistake can cost millions...

Not convinced by this at all. Over the last few years have seen teenagers like Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Phil Jones, Welbeck and even the kopite, Sterling on the weekend. Ross has talent in bucket loads and would have put him right up next to any of the above when they first cracked it.

A good continuous run of first-team football whether it be 10 or 20 minutes here and there would do him a world of good I would think. A short-term loan could be an option as well but would love to see him get a good run with us this year, if not in the middle then as a back-up on either flank.

I think loan to a championship team would do him the world of good. He has bags of ability but there are some things best learned through experience. If some of the comments made last night are anything to go by, some people expect him to stroll into the middle of the park and play like Messi. He's 18 years old and most of the games he's played for us have been when we were playing terribly. In many ways, the position he plays (CM) is the most challenging to play. Take him out of the limelight and away from the unrealistic expectations for a bit, play every week and gain what he needs most - time on the pitch in proper competitive games for a first team.

How so mate? Glasgow is a bit wild tbf.

But Davey will know that better then most. He has big connections at Parkhead does Davey.

I just think he'll think that somewhere like Weds is more suitable for the purpose of giving the lad some game time than the pressure cooker that is Glasgow mate

He ain't going to learn much sitting on the bench, he needs to play week in week out. Celtic would be perfect for the lad and may even play in CL.
A lot of big clubs send out there young talent out on loan, Wilshire for example looked a far better player on return from his loan spell. Our only problem is squad depth, if we can get cover in then it's a good deal for all involved.

I dont think Moyes thinks sending him to a lower league team with lesser players/facilities and coaching staff will improve him, but what it does is get him out of his comfort zone, gets him playing in front of a paying crowd who are going to be a little bit harsher to him when he loses concentration. It will make a world of difference to him instead of playing in front of a handful of people on what are effectively training grounds.

I'm gonna get dry bummed for this but Barkley isnt ready for the PL full time yet. He has some lovely signs that he has an attacking football brain but he's also shown that he's naive. He gives the ball away too much, makes too many sloppy passes and his recovery doesn't match his mistakes. Its just not quite all there yet. I'm all up for a 12 month loan to a decent championship team where he can make the mistakes for them, cost them points. Lets face it, we have plenty in our squad who can do that job better at the moment, ie ship less goals than they score/make bit in 12 months after some develppment and gametime, he could be the daddy. There, I've said it,
*drops skiddies and bends over a barrel
