Ross Barkley

Or because its the club he's a supporter of rather than anything? He wants to do everything for the club and it hurts him when he can't.

Boo-hoo and all that, but I agree mentally that's a problem. He moves away, I think that will get to him less.

And if the board are genuine...IMO you need Barkley, you need Lukaku. What you don't need is the rest of the squad.

No no no mate. We don't need the players with the worst attitudes in the entire squad, they along with the majority of the rest of the players can kindly exit stage left while we rip it up and start completely again.

Everton will release Ross Barkley statement tomorrow with player yet to give club answer on future

Ronald Koeman says he will speak to the Everton board on Monday over the future of Ross Barkley - and then issue a "statement".

The Blues confirmed that he has yet to receive an answer from the 23-year-old after the club offered him a new contract.

Koeman had issued a deadline of the end of the season for Barkley to tell the Blues.

Asked if Barkley had given him an answer, Koeman replied: "No.

"I will speak to the board tomorrow and we will make a statement about that."

Attitude or ambitions?

We had more ambitious players, we'd win stuff.

Their personalities clash like, but I reckon Everton's DNA is much more Koeman than Barkley.

Barkley needs a Martinez, someone to blow smoke up his arse.

slagging him off to the press every other week is no better than blowing smoke up his arse - they both put unnecessary pressure on the player. And I think that applies to most players, not just Barkley.

Ambition does not equal delusion. The two mentioned players have been brainwashed into believing they don't have to work hard to be successful, they're not interested in being the centrepiece and dragging their own team up a few levels in order to win stuff. They want to go to a club where they can blend into the background and be carried to trophies by world class players. A team full of players with that attitude won't get us anywhere. Quite laughable that Barkley thinks he's earned that right tbh, I can let Lukaku off in a way because he's scored 25 goals.

It's not confidence. It's self - belief.

The best players believe in themselves when the chips are down, their belief in their own talent sees them through and back to form. Barkley clearly is lacking in that. You can't coach it. He lacks that strong bloody mindedness that gets you to the very top.
We dont all come in the same size mate do we?

Different players require different approaches.

That's one way of seeing it.

The other way would be that both players have been key players for the clubs for 4-5 years and now don't think it's going anywhere. Especially when one sees the other leaving.

The only reason why I think any of them are still here now and not gone a season or so ago was the fact they had chances to win stuff in the last 3 seasons (FA Cup and League cup semi, Europa League last 16) and failed as a team.
