If he was signing a new contract, I'm sure he would have started today. His reaction in the Watford game and his omission from the team today says it all really.

He's done nothing wrong whatsoever. He's been smart. I think that's what has upset people, because they think he's thick and expect him to blindly love playing for the club whatever they pay him.

Also add he's scouse and a bloo so it means it's his fault when we don't win, and a Judas for dragging the club through the mud.

Anyone else not of scouse heritage is fine to do this and will be forgotten about soon (see Lukaku and Mirallas wanting away)
 
Gone I think, shame but we will survive. I am not sure about Roscoe, all the ability in the world, but, he has difficulty in making it count. I can't help feeling, for his benefit, he might be better off staying here, where we will always be that bit more patient with him.

Nah, he's played the same tactics away from home against the top teams when he's benched him hoping to have pace on the counter.

He threw him on when they went to 10 men because he thought we could save the game after 20mins.

The future of Everton midfielder Ross Barkley will be decided on Monday, says manager Ronald Koeman.

The 23-year-old has been told he will be sold if he does not sign a new contract by the end of this weekend.

The Dutchman, who left Barkley out of the starting XI as 10-man Arsenal beat the Toffees 3-1 on Sunday, said he would speak to the board.

"Ross was one of the players who didn't show productivity today," said Koeman. "It's not about one player."

Barkley has a contract with his boyhood club until the summer of 2018 and has been offered an extension.

Everton finished the 2016-17 season in seventh, eight points behind Manchester United in sixth but 15 points above Southampton in eighth.

"We need to find players with more productivity," he said. "The board will back me. We want more quality in. That's what they will support."

I'm not quite sure you're right. Imagine the Spurs, Arsenal, City, (insert as appropriate) fans when with a through ball on, he keeps his head down and blazes one over the bar. We want him to succeed and allow him some leeway, if he goes, for a big fee, he will be expected to perform week in and week out, no excuses.
 
Sadly I think Ross has a number of demons including the knowledge that he hasn't had a great season - competent but not great.

I have no idea what might be going on with him outside of GP, but he seems to have something bothering him.

RK has to manage this team - that is his job- and he is clearly at the end of his tether as regards one of his assets.

I have worked for bosses who are similar. and funnily enough it is something that I enjoy - clarity and decisiveness.

I have also worked for indecisive ditherers, and these really have frustrated me.

A huge amount depends on one's own mentality.
