Ross Barkley

Koeman is well within his rights.

Ross is as well - to a point. But he should have let the club know (or his reps should have).

We asked for an answer by a certain point. He hasn't lived up to that expectation.

Hopefully this can be resolved positively.

I've got no hard feelings either way, it just needs sorting.

Koeman definitely would rather him stay. He just probably won't lose much sleep over it if he doesn't.

He's a talent is Ross, we don't deserve him. Some of his treatment from the fans, especially before Xmas was shocking. He needs to play on a bigger stage, with more freedom and better players. 15 points behind a poor Liverpool side tells you all you need to know about where we're at, and some people seem to be happy with that. I wouldnt blame him if he went. really hope he stays, but I get the impression that the players don't particularly like playing under Koeman. I have to say, I can't blame them

RAWK is that way lad

That's pretty wide of the mark in so many ways.

1) Yes he is a talent, but he's no better than Everton, so in that respect we do deserve him (or better).
2) Yes, he treatment at times has been poor, we have some fans who like to turn up and vent. But more often than not, his song gets sung the loudest. It's not the fans' fault he takes 5 minutes to pass the ball.
3) Why does he need to play on a bigger stage when he's failing to perform regularly on a smaller, more Premier League-sized one?
4) 15 points behind, what I think is, quite a good Liverpool side (as much as it pains me to say).
5) I wouldn't blame him if he went, but I really hope he does go.
6) I think the players were enjoying playing when we were winning every week. Then Rom and his agent popped up with their bi-monthly sh*te talk and the whole thing ran out of steam.
and 7) Finishing 7th with a pretty average squad is a pretty good return for Koeman, who must've spent the best part of 6 months pressure washing the stench of Martinez out of the club.

Put some players around Ross and he'll be different. This team needs talent, but some leadership would be nice, too.

Pit another ACM with some scoring ability or a wide second striker with speed...even a target guy for Rom to play off of and Ross sitting behind them...he's a more productive player as he'd simply have more time and space.

Hell, how about a couple CBS that could win balls and distribute a bit.

Hope to heavens he stays.

He's played in 143 games for Everton. How much patience does he have to be shown? Not like we're turning on Tom Davies or Ashley Williams here.

I'm referring to the abuse and castigation that's directed at Ross (and some of our other lads) on a weekly basis.

The away teams think Christmas has come early when they come to Goodison and hear us getting on our own players' backs at the sound of the first whistle.

Poker game going on.
Koeman has a boss poker face.
Ross doesn't, his agent is likely a weasel.
In summary he may be staying or he may be going.
I'm not arsed as I can live comfortably with neither outcome.

Still Undecidedly.

Koeman doesn't rate Barkley that highly. Even if he stays, he will be a bench player next season. Barkley has not delivered wonder goals or great performances this season, unlike Lukaku, Coleman, and to a lesser degree Davies, Gueye and Schneiderlin. Koeman has said he will be looking for better players, and that's fine with me. Barkley can come on and regain his form and goal threat which he had in 2013/14.
