Ross Barkley

Do you not think we were in contact with his agent or whatever way before the reporters first questioned Koeman on the issue? Everton have been pretty good at getting players to sign extensions of late and I find it unlikely that they didn't attempt to tie Barkley down much earlier on. If he has a problem with the manager then fine don't sign, these things happen in all walks of life. But at least have the courtesy to inform your manager of your intentions, and allow him to plan for next season ,which begins early this year don't forget.
Again , it's Barkley who has dicked our club about, not Koeman.

This....

If there was no contract offered, people would moan at the club.

Contract has been offered, people (probably same people) moan at the club.

I can't figure out our fans. What do you Ross Barkley supporters want Everton fc (you know - the club you support) to do? I really can't see what Everton or RK has done wrong.
RK is planning for next season already. He needs to know if Ross wants to be part of that or not.
What Everton can't afford to do is allow a very saleable asset to leave for nothing. He tells us his plans now, or we transfer list him and get some deserved money back for nurturing him for years, supporting and paying him through his broken leg, and giving him an opportunity to show the league his talents.

But, Moaners be moaners I suppose.

RK is in a very strong position at Everton. He was the choice of Moshiri who went to a lot of trouble and spent a lot of money to get him.

If anybody seriously thinks this Barkley situation weakens the managers hand then you are in dreamland.
The fact the manager is allowed to take such a strong stand with a local, a home grown and a fans favourite shows just how strong his position is.

I agree with what you have written.

People having a go at RK for talking about it, he gets asked about it in every presser.

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't with this one.

Are you in the loop,or just peeing in the wind?

I thought contract negotiations were just that, negotiations. With the player and agent having most leverage. Are there not 3 outcomes...

RB signs a new contract (sometime between now and the expiration of his current contract), or

RB is sold, with the agreement of all parties, or

RB just let's his contract expires and become a free agent.

Can he not say no comment - on Lukarkus contract it was out of his control - now he publicly gives Ross ultimatums???

He could but the thing is the fans also want to know, if he said that our minds would wonder all over the place more so then what they are already doing.

What I dont understand is why cant the Barkley camp make a statement like Lukakus have and Stones did, the silence isnt doing anyone any favors and the clock is ticking on the opening of the window, stalling from the club as far as buying players goes hasn't helped us in the past and this window its vital we get right

BTW read you had been unwell, hope your on the mend mate.

Because patently if he had answered 'no comment' it would still have meant he hadn't signed a contract. Given that he is now in the last 12 months of his current contract , Everton have effectively this transfer window to realise any reasonable amount of money on his departure otherwise he walks out for a nominal fee, therefore any ultimatum is already implied by the fact Barkley hasn't signed his contract.

Im not attacking Arteta.

Im highlighting that his numbers and what he did in big games is actually lower and less than what Ross has done, in half the games.

The stick Ross is getting is injustified, and this comparison to me shows that fans treat local lads and fancy sounding forigners different.

Which shows me that numbers aren't reliable to gauge players.... strike rate is pretty much the only stat that is useful IMO... arteta in his pomp was a quality player ... full of running, creative and some of his skills made him a joy to watch.... ross has a better physique and more strength and pace... but he will never be as influential as arteta just before that Newcastle game ...
