Because patently if he had answered 'no comment' it would still have meant he hadn't signed a contract. Given that he is now in the last 12 months of his current contract , Everton have effectively this transfer window to realise any reasonable amount of money on his departure otherwise he walks out for a nominal fee, therefore any ultimatum is already implied by the fact Barkley hasn't signed his contract.

Tell you what its a pity we do not do this with has beens like Gibson, and co not a skillful midfielder who has been ridiculed pointed out by our manager at times this season!
If this was true he would be pushing Barry to Villa!
If he wants to be ruthless then fine , buts lets have some consistency hey!

What I dont understand is why cant the Barkley camp make a statement like Lukakus have and Stones did, the silence isnt doing anyone any favors and the clock is ticking on the opening of the window, stalling from the club as far as buying players goes hasn't helped us in the past and this window its vital we get right

Thanks for that { over my health} Ross may have had his head turned they are in talks allegedly the sooner the better he signs, but like Delboy who is doing well now Ross may feel his face does not fit with RK?
the criticism RK has leveled at him has been OTT when Barry strolls around in midfield with no legs!

To be fair Joey, there are two 'Everton ways' in our history. In recent decades, it's being polite and respectful (nothing wrong with that) and accepting second best. The 'Everton way' I grew up with involved sacking managers in the back of taxis and making ruthless decisions with players for the good of the club/team in the pursuit of success. Perhaps a mix of the two 'ways' is needed?

fine but like I stated let's have some consistency, even when we play bad who often got subbed then spouted as not doing enough by RK =Ross when others stunk the house out no mention of them!
as for contracts they publicly stated Lukaku was signing then nothing no ultimatums there was there? or did I miss that one?????

no mix either mr approachable nice guy or ruthless consistently with every player - RK has a history of this look at my Valencia post the players hated him- look at Southampton he fell out with Mane who is the other lots best player now!

Thing is Joe perhaps RK is trying the tough love on a player who was not much more consistent last year with hugs and kisses from the previous. It might work with Ross.. It might not but neither did blowing him upto ridiculous heights when not really warranted.

I wish he would Tough love Stek- Williams - Barry - Mirallas - Baines etc, etc on their bad days etc not just Ross hey ho!
