Ross Barkley

He may as well have kissed the Liverpool badge at the alter of an Evertonian's funeral for what he has done is so disgusting. How dare he even consider leaving this great mighty wonderful club.

If he leaves then he's a money grabbing Judas.

Just who do you think you are Ross?

I'm with you in this one mate.

What punishment do you would be suitable ?

I remember Pienaar running down his contract and going off to spurs many years ago for a nominal fee. I wonder if Levy has engineered the same stunt here?

Stop talking complete & utter rubbish just because you don't like him you really are making a fool of yourself.
It's reported by Dave downie a producer on a local radio station with many shows dedicated to football & also co contributor to an Everton website that ross has 100% fact had talks with spurs.

This is not a journalist trying to obtain clicks or notoriety it's a good local season ticket holder who dedicates a large proportion of his professional & personal life to Everton.

Explain something to me Michael if your name is Michael all the Ross detractors suggest every single team below us may potentially move for him but no one above would want him. Any alarm bells ringing Sherlock.

I'd also add the manager of the team that finished directly below us after losing at goodison basically said words TO the affect of the difference between Everton & his team is Ross Barkley & romelu lukaku he didn't say in that game he said the difference. Read into that what you will
Surely ross would of needed the clubs permission to talk to another club?

No idea I don't even know if it's true it is however a possibility given that the source actually may have some contacts rather than people on here constantly guessing that a team above us wouldn't dream of buying him simply because they may have once won the league on champ manager or they can't face the fact that he is potentially turning his back on us.

I suggested no such thing. I said other players in England play in those type of games and he would like a piece of that. Where did I say he would flourish?

Why would he "like a piece of that" if he can't ( along with the rest of our team) handle big games? If he can't show up against Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Liverpool etc why would you be so sure he'd do something different in the Champions League for instance? And Spurs, whom it seems are the potential subject of the alledged tapping up play at least 6 derbies a year plus play all the big teams Ross and co have failed so spectacularly against for the last four-five seasons.

Does he really? Or does he just as much as any other player does?

I mean look:

"He needs to be more consistent."

... but he offers as much as some of the perceived very best players in the league in his role over an entire season.

"He needs to improve his decision making."

... but he creates nearly as many chances as perceived visionaries like Ozil and Hazard at an inferior club.

"He needs to stop getting giving the ball away."

... but he had twice the amount of successful dribbles as Sigurdsson and, as a percentage, gave the ball away during these dribbles less than Sigurdsson. 15% less in fact.

"He needs to pass the ball forward more."

... but again, his forward passing stats and distance covered by passes are directly comparable with the very best in the league.

And so on, and so on.

Stats aren't everything (in fact, they're barely anything), but given how many people bang on about Barkley being "miles off" the top level, it's enlightening to see the evidence available simply doesn't back that up.

A good post Tubey....however, playing Devils Advocate, that would support the price-tag being bandied about of £50M and based on those stats there should be a queue of top teams knocking our door down with offers.

Tubes is insane if he thinks we were getting any above 25m for a player in his last year, regardless of Ronny running his gums.

Who's to say there won't be - the window hasn't opened yet.

We won't get £50m, but it won't be £25m either. It'll be something close to bang in the middle of that.

If he leaves, and that's not certain at all.
