Ross Barkley

Working in Leek at the moment and one of the guys I work with used to be in the Stoke Youth Team. Was on his way to being a senior for them but he suffered a bad injury and now doesn’t have any cartilage left in his knee anymore. I think he actually made a Championship/Football Manager roster once though, which is pretty cool.

Anyway, he went to a couple of seminars before his injury down in London and said that he saw a young Ross playing. He never got to play against him, but he said he was incredibly impressed when he saw him in training. He’s convinced Ross can get even better than he is now.
Not doubting your mans story, but what seminars have young players playing?

I agree with him that Barkley can get even better but if I had a quid for everyone I've ever worked with who could've played professional football except for their knees Id be driving a Range Rover.

He's like Le Tissier and Beardsley in one.

Le Tissier was always underrated. Brilliant player. If Suarez or Rooney had scored some of the ones he did you'd never ever hear the end of it. You still see replays of Suarez tapping that hoof in v Newcastle as one of the best goals in prem history, wasn't even the best in that game!

Barkley is now adding the goals and assists to his game and is a great player but I hope he always keeps that confidence he had when he ran the pitch v Newcastle or first timed it past Hart.

Well if some fella who used to play for Stoke youth team said he's going to be boss then the world is his oyster
