Ross Barkley

Can we say without doubt that Everton is the best place for the arm around the shoulder treatment, that's the treatment required and do we know for certain that Koeman is the man to deliver that? I'd be reluctant to say one way or another as I don't know either guy and don't work with them day in, day out.

I'd also argue that in the current market any transfer fee under £40M wouldn't really be seen as a big money move.

If a scenario similar to that has played out then I'd say recovering from such a breakdown in a professional relationship is going to be difficult. Barkley may well be aware that hard work and consistency are required but he may not be willing to do it for Koeman and I doubt Ronko is the kind of guy who will bend over backwards to appease a player with that kind of attitude when he can just get someone else in.

I know what you are saying , but he has been here since he was 11.
so on both counts he will get the arm around the shoulder more and 40 million is a big money move , because of that fact of being a one club local 'everton kid' and not some paycheck chasing journeyman. just my opinion.

nothing , and I mean nothing, would make me happier than seeing barkley sign a new contract.
it would be the cherry on the cake and that extra push to go into the season all guns blazing.

its a cloud over the club , and if he is sold it would leave a sour taste in the mouth over what should be a great summer. no big money signing can make up for an everton lad not reaching his potential with us.

it would also be an awful end to an everton lads career. there will be no coming back if he steps out.

for his sake , as much as the clubs, I hope he walks into koemans office asap and says this is where his heart is and where he wants to be part of our success.
I can see that is heartfelt mate. I couldnt have put it better

Don't agree much with Durham at talksport, but the other night he was suggesting if he left Everton who would sign him and would he be a regular in their side? Surely Ross would only leave his boyhood club for regular football, in a world cup year, would he get it at Spurs? I doubt it with the squad that they have.

bye ross, don't let that loyalty bonus cheque hit you on the arse on the way out

He won't get as big a contract at Spurs. In fact, probably no where near it. This has surely always been about him not getting into the England side.

We need to keep this lad - get rid of the likes of McCarthy for £20m to fund the Gylfi purchase if needs be.

Why is he still here, I'm guessing any interested club/clubs are waiting till the end of the window to drive the price down.

None of the "bigger" clubs want him and he doesn't want the "smaller" clubs so he's basically in limbo

If was a proper Blue he would have signed by now to focus on a good season to get into the England squad and to help push the team on

Is the bother that he had in the bar in town anything to do with him wanting out?
Serious question, I have no idea what it was all about.

I dont know but I find it hard to believe it is just football reasons, I also cant believe the terms of the contract he dosent like so wont sign for those reasons. Sounds like a right complex mess, but Ross has to work out what is best for him and sort himself out, if its another club he needs to get cracking and find one, as right now his career is grinding to a halt
