Ultimately I just can't see it working at this point.

He thrives on confidence and frankly because of the way things have gone he'll get dogs abuse if he is still here.

I'd love for him to finally turn that corner but the cards are stacked against him.

Think you're right about this sadly. As an American supporter, I really enjoy the fact that Ross, Tom etc. are local lads. In general, Americans love rooting for the local boy/girl player and I am very proud to support a club that celebrates its local connections. I want Ross to want to stay and succeed. The great pity is we can all more or less see exactly how this is going to play out. He'll leave towards the end of the window for Spurs and will rot on their bench. Meanwhile Ronald, presumably the wellspring of Ross' discontent, will be gone in two years. Be wrong!!

If he had anything about him, he would stay here , play with better players, get his head down, improve and become a star.

If he leaves a career he will end up at a West Ham sized club eventually and be described as a former wonder kid.

Based on numerous Everton players, but not all, moving to a "better" club and things not going that well, sadly, think this has nailed it.

I think he will become a better player once he leaves. He might not burst onto the scene in his first season, but I could easily see him making it in the long run. He needs to get the pressure off of his back

I don't disagree mate. It could easily go that way for him and I would be happy for him if it did but much less happy that it didn't happen with us. Imagine another narrative, he signs, fights for a place, gets better, Koeman leaves and in a few more years he leads the side out at Bramley. Scenes!

And where would he go? WBA or Stoke? I dont see any top teams needing or wanting him.
