Ross Barkley

He wants to go though by the look of things, as did Stones, as did Lukaku. We can't help these players bring in huge fees for us at the time we are flexing our muscles. We're not sell to buy, we're being run properly. I for one don't want a huge debt, not that we'll have one, the game is flush with money. How many teams out there are jealously looking at what we're doing now, the answers a lot, we're not sell to buy.
What's the difference between sell to buy and properly run.

We clearly are sell to buy. It's no surprise once we bought our players Rom went or now Sigurdsson is linked to Ross going. Whether that's right or wrong you are free to hold your opinion but we are sell to buy.

Why do people defend the lad so much? I hope he stays but he's completely shafting his boyhood club and leaving on the relevant cheap to likely sit on the bench of a top 6 club.

If he doesn't want to stay and would rather the bright lights of London let him go, he's certainly not good enough at present to be awarded a return down the line like Rooney has.

Bit different when you sell your second choice right back for a record fee

I actual hate the sell to buy line.

It's how business works. Sell things for a profit. Buy other things.

Having said that, I just don't want him to go. But there's reasons.

spurs are getting 50 million and have a fullback in place who is younger and better!

Every single club will look to get rid of unhappy players or ones the manager doesn't want and reinvest the money. Chelsea have done the best business the last few years by doing exactly this.

Spurs have a ready made right back yes. And that's why I have more faith in Everton's youth system to produce talent (Like it has tremendously last year) than I do in Ross Barkley.

To add, we reinvest in a player the manager confidently wants for a similar fee. I want Barkley to stay but honestly if we get anywhere near our valuation of him I will be happy.

We are.

Barkley will go and that will fund Sigurdsson.

McCarthy will go and that will fund an out and out striker.

It was always the case with Lukaku going. He said so many months ago and we went on a run of signing some quality players with the money from that impending sale. Despite there being a billionaire on board, give or take a few million, we are VERY much sell to buy. The only thing that will change my mind on that, is that once Barkley and McCarthy get shipped out, after the Sigurdsson and a new striker move in, we go out and spend around 50 - 100 million MORE on players. But of course that is unlikely because the squad is already taking shape isn't it.

Sell to buy. Everton FC
