Ross Barkley

would that be the mighty striker Joaquin who scored 26 goals and assisted 37 in 16,360 min averaging a goal every 629min an assist every 442min and involved in a goal every 260min? mighty indeed! give us a break Joey, Koeman has not lost the dressing room, in fact players are choosing to play for him above other managers and the team seem very pleased with the progress under him. Besides managers get sacked from time to time, it's part of football...why do you want him to fail? You insult your golden boy Barkley by blaming this stand off on Koeman...you act like Barkley can't think for himself and needs your protection from big bad Koeman. If you are right about that then I wouldn't want him at the club in such an important position...no room for babies
Really-
If Athletic's fans called for Koeman to stay, Valencia's fans can't wait for him to leave - nor can the players, the board and the media. Today, an €8m pay-off permitting, they will get their wish. Even though they were happy enough sacking Quique Sánchez Flores at 4:24am, puppet president Agustín Morera pledged he wouldn't react "in the heat of the moment", insisting "all decisions are agreed by the board". What he meant was: "Right now I can't get hold of flabby-jowled owner Juan Soler so he can tell us what to agree on." Meanwhile, Carlos Marchena kindly pointed out: "Us players have to work with the coach, whoever he is. But if the board want our opinion, they know where to find us."

Their opinion is that Koeman is a disaster. And they may have a point. When Valencia sacked Sánchez-Flores, they were four points off the top; now, they're 35 points off. Worse still, they're just two points above the relegation zone and have the hardest run-in of the struggling clubs: Osasuna, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Levante and Atlético. They've picked up just 18 of a possible 66 points since he took over, winning just four in 22 and completing their worst ever season at Mestalla. Last night's 5-1 defeat was their worst away result in 25 years and they've won just once in the last six, losing the other five. Mind you, that win was against soon-to-be-champions Real Madrid in the same week that they defeated Barcelona in the Cup, creating a sudden surge of optimism. And they did win the Copa del Rey.
Nor is it just the tactics. Koeman lost much of a divided dressing room when he lacked the personality to stand up to Juan Soler's demands to sack the Valencia Three, ending up in court and with Vicente, Silva and Villa looking for a way to leave. He lost Joaquín when he dropped him from the squad for arriving two minutes late to a team-talk, even though he had included Ever Banega, who'd been picked up by the police for drink-driving, prompting the winger to snipe: "Maybe next time I'll get pissed and run a red light instead." And he lost Iván Helguera and more when he publicly berated the players for not being good enough, prompting Helguera to bemoan a "lack of respect". "I don't know if I have the squad behind me," shrugged Koeman, "but I reckon four or five of them are on my side."

Maybe the reason Ross is having difficulty in signing his contract ?????????

Sign a Man Utd reject who is finished at the highest level in Wayne Rooney, sell our brightest and one of our most talented players in Ross Barkley.

Everton that.
Numbnuts has had a contract offer that would make him one of our highest EVER players. Considering he's supposedly a big Blue he should have signed. This isn't on the club. This is on empty head not wanting to sign. Doesn't wanna be here then I don't want him and neither do many others.

There appears to me, too much in-house bickering; how's about a ceasefire between warring factions, let the pre-season cards fall as they will, and then let's discuss consequent avenue.
Waaaaay too many panties getting unnecessarily bunched at present...

Benitez was apparently cold and abrasive too, they are employees not children type attitude and he's won a lot as a manager... I don't care if he hurt Ross' feelings by demanding more and dropping/subbing him. Man up ffs! It bothers me that him being a blue protects him in a way other players do not get... People laugh at Koeman saying about Niasse when barely in the door; 'if he wants to play football he must leave' Geri getting slated for work rate and missing a one on one. Holgate getting called out on poor crossing. McCarthy getting called out on his International fiassco. Lukaku(that's right Lukaku) getting called out on his hold up play and Koeman saying he needs to improve that...needs to improve all areas other than finishing. Cut out this wrapping Barkley in cotton wool, that's Roberto Martinez style

if players aren't prepared to be pushed or to improve on their weaknesses they won't live up to their potential. That's the way football has gone lately, everyone is given too much money straight away these days and don't need to work hard. Those who continue to work hard like ronaldo will succeed. We all saw it with leicester, pure hard work won them that title. You have to take the criticism on board.

Ross sadly, does seem to only want the easy ride and the easy option for him is to leave and not actually fight here for his starting spot. Shame, but there we go, i hope he still stays, but he won't be an automatic first choice pick.

What's your point Joey? One club it didn't work out? Big deal...he's not the first manager that's happened to which I said in the message you replied to... Maybe Ross is having difficulty signing his contract because he doesn't like the manager? ok that's fine...bye bye Ross... If you are asking me do I choose forever in potential land Ross over a manager who has definitely improved us then my answer is clear

It's an online football forum lad. If it was all peace and love and rainbows and flowers then it'd be no bloody fun.

Was Ross playing at Valencia about ten years ago then mate?

If not - what on earth does it have to do with anything really, greatest ever manager in the game fell out with players in Ferguson - and ones who couldn't put up eventually moved on - including players a level above what Barkley is at.

Mourinho lost an entire dressing room last season - of a team he actually put together as well.

As for his time at Valencia - he took over a team that had not won any trophy the past 4 seasons and won them the cup, since that win, they have gone ten seasons without winning anything.

so Maybe he was right to try to overhaul the squad in reflection, what goes without question is that he has learned from that time, just see the way he has handled basically replacing most of the starting 11 without any significant fallout in the dressing room

Valencia the football team did not think that when they sacked him!
he lost the dressing room - the mighty striker Joachin stated we listened to RK instructions as we were in relegation trouble went out and played the opposite and won games to keep us up!
What about when he bettered Potchetinno at Southampton?

Bitterness has completely engulfed you now, Joey. You are laying the blame at everyone but Barkley, with some absolutely woeful reasoning.

Edit: Or just read @bluestevon post above.
