the modern footballer. I saw a great programme not so long ago where Harry Redknapp was talking about players today wanting everything straight away. He spoke about his time as footballer and how you'r first contract would get you a flat, second contract a car, third a house and there was always that reason to play well and earn that better deal. Now though players get big money straight away and that first contract almost sets them up for life.

The suggestion that Barkley is worth more than Harry Kane is laughable, but he goes on England duty with Stones & Sterling. They will discuss wages. Is he worth less than either of those two? No way!

ManU not much better. They've just given Lukaku £250k. Can't trap a bag of cement. Can you blame Barkley for wanting more?


The game needs a salary cap. Doubt we'll ever see it unfortunately.

Funny ain't it... These players demanding more and more but the funny thing is, Not one single one of them would get into a nuclear shelter come the end of days.... They are nothing more than window dressing.. Its mental how really important people ie.. Doctors, Nurses... Most in the public sector... Oh and the millions of homeless and starving are paid a living wage or nothing at all and these bozo's are having parties worth over £1,000,000... Sickening really. I hope a wage cap comes in that allows a sportsman to live his playing days in comfort with a nice retirement plan.... Nothing more.

It's obscene. No argument on that.
 

After him seemingly turning his nose up at the contract offered to him by us this story about his wage demands for a transfer to spurs fits the bill but could still be bull of course. Whatever is true Ross isn't coming out of this saga without looking a bit greedy now.

This coming from one of the greediest / most bent people ever to be involved in football lol

Can't see us giving him a better deal now. The offer has been on the table for months and I don't see why they should or will change it. He knows the score, sign or go. He has chosen in not signing to go.
 

Unfortunately for Ross, his reputation is taking a hammering now regardless of how true these reports are (they almost certainly are complete nonsense).

I suspect a whole bunch of factors are at play, but thanks to these reports he is now going to be painted as another talented English player who is only in it for an easy ride to the top and as much money as possible. It's unfortunate, but the player rarely comes out of these contract stand-offs looking particularly good.
