Sadly I think this is partly because some of them have found more convenient targets to move onto. Only way to stop it would be some kind of pre match counselling service so a few fans could work out their insecurities before it started.
More realistically we just buy a player to pick on. Be easy to work out the kind of things that turn this crowd against someone and find a player who suits. Could still be a decent player but you just add a few grand onto their wages to wind the fans up.
Job done.

Why are you still going on about it? We know your opinion now. We think he will be a top class player, you don't see it. Feel free to say I told you so in a few years if we're wrong and prepare to be vaulted if he is.

Because if you read the thread folk keep coming on here moaning about Barkley haters when I don't believe any really exist. Maybe the odd one or two old farts but nobody seriously has anything but the best for the kid.
