Ross Barkley

That bit is utterly wrong mate, if the balls put into that danger area it's a bloody good ball, it's then down to slating the players who didn't take advantage of it, the likes of Lineker would have scored about 6 the past 2-3 games from exactly those balls Deulofeu and last game Ross put in, saying that cos a man isn't there its a crap ball is basically against everything your taught to do as a player which is stick the ball in a certain area when crossing

What I am saying though is that if you know your team mate hasn't bothered to get himself in the correct position to put the ball in the back of the net, what is the point in putting the ball in, just to say - well you should have been there?

Obviously that is something players like Lukaku need to work on, but in my opinion, it's only a dangerous ball if in those circumstances there is ever a chance of your team mate getting on the end of it.

I've gone a bit off topic with that, but my original point was to say that people cut Deulofeu slack but not Barkley.

Because players can't possibly see absolutely everything thats happening, take Deulofeu's crosses for example, half the time he is bending it around a bloke whose pretty tightly on him into the danger area, it's then down to the striker to gamble on him doing so and make the run, if he does it as soon as Dels sending it in he'd reach it, but all too often Rom for example is sitting back waiting, and once as a forward your waiting for stuff then you have lost any chance to make something happen. IMO anyway it's what right atm is stopping Lukaku from being 'world class' he learns to makes those runs he will be banging in another 10 simple tap ins a season and at that point he will be ridiculously good.

Anyway the original point was about cutting Barkley slack and i totally agree, seems to always happen that we get on our home grown players backs ten times worse than if they'd been bought by the club from abroad.

I do see what you are saying to be honest, I suppose I meant that it's Lukaku and the rest of the teams weakness at the moment, and at times, Deulofeu could wait for them to get in a better position before putting the ball in. But you do have a fair point about him not always having that luxury with having to worry about beating his man too.

Agree on your other point, I can't understand why it happens, and why it's seen as the right thing to do.

stop trying to cause trouble lad, i've accepted hard working steves apology for being wrong about Ross, he's admitted the error of his ways here, and hopefully he can move forward, fortunately I had plenty of time to think about him accepting he was wrong as in a week i only do a days worth of stevie boys work

To continue with the debate, and with reference to the only part of your post which was actually about the debate...no...I didn't 'apologise' for my opinion of Barkley last season, and I gave good reasons why myself and many other clear thinking Evertonians had the same opinion. Theres a little bin we can put posters like you in...its labelled 'cocky failed cyber bullies...ignore' and its about to be used. While youre sitting in the bin, try to improve your understanding of the English language....it should help your debating and conversational skills, at least a little bit.

Some people just can't take being wrong, I'll continue to defend Barkley as I have from day one, because I see football clearer than those who slated him, so I've no need for revisionist posts

Crikey Steve, might be time to lay off the internet for a bit.

In fairness Steve from what I remember of your Ross musings, they could be more easily placed in the "slating" bin rather than "even-handed appraisal bin".

In general though, there are an incredible amount of posters over-criticising players across the various threads. There are a few absolutely crackpoint viewpoints being posited.

It used to be just the handful laying into Osman at every chance, or Tubey being wrong about Rom, but now it´s everywhere.

To be fair there would be a lot less of this if the team were in the top half of the table, above the likes of Watford.
