Ross Barkley

What was up with Ross yesterday? looked well off the pace, like he wasn't fit, movement really laboured.
Looked like a Watford player stood on his ankle or something, early on, so maybe he couldn't shake it off.

I am not anti-Ross, but i do wish the coaches would work on his stamina! He permanently seems to be shagged out! We either need to play him in a role where stamina is not so critical (i.e. Anywhere but DM) or spend much more time on stamina fitness!

Stamina especially fitness levels seems to effect the whole squad, was never a fan of Moyes but at least the players were always fit.

Just simply not as good as the hype machine on here would have you believe. Nothing 'world class' about him I'm afraid.
If you watch Ross compared to say, Payet, it's chalk and cheese.
Payet is quality and had a great season, but he's 29 where was he at 21/22. Ross does need to graft a lot harder, and I've said this for a while about him needing a manger to make him work harder, and give him a bollocking at times too. You have to wonder what are they working on with The lad on a day to day basis. If he hasn't got the brain to work it out for himself, that's what the coaches are for.

Obviously time will tell, but I would have my house on Barkley have a more successful career than payet

A good manager will come in and look at the talent at the club, or lack of it, he will then decide on a style of play that suits the squad, or else he will change the squad to match a style of play.
Martinez is so committed to his procession football he won't or can't see he needs a different type of player to play it.

Said in a different thread earlier carragher picked Barkley over payet at Christmas in the sky half way point team of the season. He has had a few poor games & people seem to have forgotten what came before.
