Ross Barkley

Genuinely think he is one of the worst players to have played for us - how he gets in the squad every week, let alone starting, is beyond me.

Absolute heaving anus of a player
he isnt the answer to our problems but its unfoar to have a go at him for today. Look at our three midfielders, Ross playing up high (but more importantly not getting back to help out), gibbo dropping very deep, that leave acres of space for errrr clev on his own to patrol. Its no wonder they had lots of space to move us around. The responsibility rests with the manager, he tells the players what/where to play.

I absolutely love Ross and think we should build a team around him. However he needs to up his work rate in pressing players and putting his foot in as well as tracking back. We were absolutely over run in midfield today (and numerous other times this season) because our holding midfielder, Gibson in this case is playing far too deep and Ross and rom are not working hard in the forward position. This leaves McCarthy to do all the pressing and we get over run. I put it down to the manager, but as an intelligent player Barkley should recognise this and do it himself.

Tend to agree with you, doesnt have to charging around doing 'headless chicken' stuff, but when we haven't got the ball a little defending from the front would be appreciated by those behind. However I think it's a martinez thing to concede field position and not press.

It's simple things like letting a pass 4 inches away from his overweight fat toe glide past him without even as much of an effort to get it.

He was leathered after 8 seconds of trying to close down that player and nearly getting it.

they always had a man spare, mainly because he was jogging around up front trying to avoid the ball. I have to say there is one hell of a player in there but needs the proper coaching.

Needs a new manager who teaches him how to work hard, and not just press for pressings sake, but press effectively at the right time.

He has it in him. Just watch our game at Norwich two seasons ago.

He needs a good bollocking not a happy clappy induldger of his lack of effort.

From watching the game I think he gets told by Martinez not to press for our stupid counter attack style so he just drops off in front of the opposition defence waiting for the ball. That's why he gets shouts that he's lazy/unfit.

Shame it wasn't at Barkley's feet, Oh no he was on the halfway line bent over breathing out his arse.

Shame Cleverly wasn't because he did f all else. Not sure why you'd want Barkley on the left wing either. Nice dig at our brightest talent though.
