He needs to use the hurt to drive him on, hes pretty weak mentally. Needs a manager that can be both bad and good cop as well
Ross needs coaching and he needs mentoring by a midfield specialist. He may be weak mentally, so that aspect is vital.
I've long advocated that the club could do worse that ask Colin Harvey to mentor Ross, to help him improve and develop his game mentally.
CH took some fearful criticism in his early days and he turned out just fine, no correction, he became and is an Everton legend !!
Ross currently needs to play purely on instinct and at pace as when he slows things down he starts thinking about what to do and that's where, in my opinion, his game falters.
Now if someone like CH could spend time with him, away from the training pitch, I honestly feel that Ross would improve considerably and possibly realise the undoubted potential he has.
For me, Ross has all the tools... he just hasn't figured out exactly how best to use them... and it's so blindingly obvious that he is not being coached well enough currently.
We have to hope that he doesn't seek to leave, that the new manager takes him under their wing and that he becomes the Evertonian he and we truly want him to become.
But, sections of the fan base really do need to support the lad and stop groaning and moaning because a lot of his current malaise is down to this manager and his inept, woeful, pathetic, pie-eating, relegation mentally inclined coaching staff.
