The opposition are always quick to close him down in twos and threes, thus making him go back instead of forward. Hes so strong on the ball that they dont tackle him, just make him play the ball backwards.

Because we build our young players up and then crucigy them everu time they are not perfect. Im sure we arent the only club/forum that does this but it is horribly unfair. Look at that clip that was going round after the semi. Ross thought that the crowd were booing him based on teh reception he gets at Goodison everytime he makes a mistake.
I cant believe the number of fans who want our most talented player (and a proper blue!) to go.

This lad is a future Everton captain he is not yet the finished player a lot of people think he is given time he will be a quality player but the amount of crap he gets off some of the fans is unbelievable, and yet Tony hibbert gets a hero's welcome and cheered every time he touches the ball could not believe won't I was hearing on Saturday.

Any absolute whopper could see we needed experienced support for Ross in the summer not only to rest him but to learn and improve his game as well.
Instead our whopper manager has ran him into the ground and he's stunk the place out for 3 months.

He needs to be in a side that move the ball around quicker, and where he doesn't have to keep dropping deep all the time looking for the ball.
This boy is a seriously gifted footballer who is being let down badly by the manager and coaching staff. He will eventually realise his potential, but only once Martinez and his crew have gone or when Ross moves on to another club
I think he'll do well in the Euro's because Hodgeson gives him a defined role, unlike Martinez.

It's a shame Eto'o wasn't around for longer in this respect, not only to occupy the opposition, but because his first instinct was to look for an incisive prod through a defence ahead of looking to make an angle for himself, Ross's instincts default to the latter 9 times out of 10 which I personally think just needs a bit of coaching/reprogramming.
Even a poor defence is rarely going to open up like this, even less so for a player (like Ross) who's capable or scoring from outside of the box.
Agree he needs to move the ball quicker himself at times, think one of the biggest problems for him though is, our movement off the ball is so static that Barkley ends up trying things that he shouldn't be trying.
