Ross Barkley

I know what you mean, but I am! Nothing to do with England, but this is important for his development and all these knock backs are terrible for a young lad.
Not necessarily. It depends on how he uses the disappointment. He could use it and make himself a much better player. A good manager with experience bringing through young players would help.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but yours is totally wrong I'm afraid!
Alli is nowhere near Barkley for technical ability! He hasn't the control, technique or passing ability of Ross! What he does better is defensive duties, tackling and work rate. Something that Ross is poor at, which goes back to one of my original posts why are we comparing them, they are nothing alike un their play. They should be dovetailed. Imagine facing them two!!!!!!
Hopefully the stats confirm this! Anyway I've a flight to catch - that's delayed, cheers easyjet! Have a good weekend all!
Alli's passing in the final third is much better. Barkley has a tendency to slow everything down. I'm not saying he can't make the pass when he sees it but he doesn't always see it.

Agreed, but we are both making assumptions of the lad. I would just like some better management of a player who obviously had confidence issues.

Alli is pretty much on same level as Barkley in terms of technique imo, saying he can't hold a candle to him is nothing short of delusional tbh. They both have exceptionally good technique, its why they stand out so much when they have the ball.

Allí has better decision making though and actually does stuff when he doesn't have the ball.

No arguments from me as to why he is ahead of Barkley in the pecking order, Wilshere though... i rate the lad when he's fit (which is never) but he's played 1 game all season, it's straight up disrespectful to let him just walk in like this having done nothing for ages.

For perspective, Barkley this season alone has scored double the amount of goals Wilshere has scored in his entire premier league career...

Dont agree at all with you saying Ali is on the same Level as barkely technically.

Ali averages 32 passes per game in the premier league & has a pass completion of 75% which is actually quite average. He is a fantastic player but is no playmaker he is very British i.e he doesn't have the ability to keep possession whilst under pressure in the manner that continental players do.

Barkley on the other hand averages over 50 passes per game yet has a pass completion of 87%. He Is able to do this as he possesses the ability to turn either way and retain possession whilst being strong as an ox & extremely quick.

Injury to Sturridge might save Barkley's spot on the bench. Pushes Rooney into forward role.

I think he deserves the spot over Henderson, but Dier and Alli have proven themselves more than Barkley. And Drinkwater may be needed to back up Dier.

He's better out the spot light ATM, when it all goes tits up again at another tournament whicj it will, the last thing we need is him in the firing line, the boys too fragile to take all that

What happens when it all goes wrong this time ? No jags baines stones or ross to blame and cant see them blaming any of the media darlings ??

Poor last 3 months but for the first 2/3rds of the season he was excellent.

He needs to up his workrate but I genuinely can't see any way in which Lallana and Henderson etc should be in the squad ahead of him.

Rumours from the journalists, he hasn't played a minute so might have some truth.

Stupid decision
There's only really one space for someone to be left behind. Sturridge and Delph both injured. Be surprised if Barkley is singled as that one single player dropped.

I'd say it's more likely that he hasn't played because he's a definite on the plane. Otherwise what's the point in having him in the 26? If he was touch and go he would have played for Hodgson to have a look at him.
