Runs down blind alleys... Check!
Yes but that's as a winger. A lot of them have suffered from this in the past, Downing, SWP etc. Playing in and around the area would eliminate that to some extent (I'm thinking of that goal v Boro in the cup, through the middle, bang).
Bolasie ...check
He played in-and-around the area last night mate, and ran down blind alleys...
I so want Del to come good, but he needs to step up.
stick him in unts midfield and he would light them up - our midfield with barry and no other creative box to box midfielder is the reason why guaye is quite good in the lee carsley role he does not need barry to jog along side him imo!Maybe not as good as we hoped he would be
Been thinking this myself so easy to say get rid of them all when clearly very few teams in history ever does it. Get on the training pitch get prepared, work hard shut up talking to the press & then we will see what we need once we are actually functioning as currently weren't not even a teamIt's got to the point where it's pointless criticising individuals(yes I know I've been slating Bolasie) as a collective unit the whole squad just aren't playing well. Nobody could shine in this current set up because it's so dis-jointed.
Going to be some big decisions made by the manager in the next few windows and I expect him to be this 'ruthless' guy I keep hearing about.
Anyway, back on to Barks, he isn't a number 10. I'm not writing him off, he's got all the talent and all the tools to be a very very good central midfielder, but a No.10 he isn't.
I so want Barkley to be successful but every game I see indecision and laziness. He makes the wrong decisions when he has the ball most of the time and he is lazy tracking back when he loses the ball. He' a very frustrating player to watch. I think the laziness can be addressed but I don't know how he can develop the footballing brain he needs to make good decisions about what to do with the ball. How do you teach someone to be smart? It's really worrying.
The thing which is most glaringly obvious to me about Ross is that we still don't seem to know what his best position is after 3/4 seasons. You play him too deep and he is exposed defensively and doesn't run enough. Running the channels appears alien to him, so he's never going to be a De Bruyne type. Stick him behind Lukaku and he isn't creative enough, doesn't see the runs and can't unlock a defence. I know I'm stating the obvious here, but I feel as though his lack of identity as a player is the main cause of him not pushing on and becoming world class.
How do you think he would do as an out and out striker?
I would love to see him tried up front.
There's quite a few posts on the forum about Ronald should be giving the younger players a chance in the team, given the treatment Ross gets and the almost toxic atmosphere at the moment, perhaps throwing a young kid to the lions is not a good solution.
