2017/18 Ross Barkley

Not being bed in to the team, not having time to settle into a new location, not getting to participate in preseason training and improving for your fitness as well as learning what the manager wants from you.

All to save a couple of mill, sounds plausible in this day and age of multi billion pound commercial deals

Especially when you've just brought in £50m for a right back and not spent a penny.

We wanted Keane though. Burnley named their price, we paid it.

Draw your own conclusions.

so if spurs come in for barkley they don't want him? if any team enquire about barkley they either pay what's asked or don't get him. if we go and sell him for buttons then we are just further strengthening teams above us at a ridiculous cost, given the market

Firstly; alexis Sanchez hasn't told the world he wants out of Arsenal. He hasn't signed a contract but he certainly hasn't made it obvious that he wants to join a new challenge. vVD only handed in a transfer request 2 days ago, so a rather pointless comparison.

The bolder bit is utter BS lid, I have no idea how that is even close to what this discussion is about. Just a bizarre ramble.

Yes he may have agreed a deal with Spurs; but what's stopping Chelsea all of a sudden showing an interest and that turns his head, then the agreement means jack and Spurs lose out because they want to penny pinch. Anyway, haven't received one bid for him.

I'm bored of Ross Barkley anyway, he's stuck 2 fingers up to the club and treated the fans with contempt. Not even having the decency to release a statement on his decision. He can do one for all I care
In relation to the first point, neither has Ross Barkley, as you even go into say in your own post. Bit of a weird start.

At a guess, Barkley's situation is exactly the same as Sanchez's it's just that Koeman has told us what Barkley said to him. Sanchez probably said the same to Wenger but they haven't gone public to save face. VVD only gave an official transfer request 2 days ago but do you honestly think that's come out of the blue? That the club hasn't been fully aware of his desire to leave for the whole summer? Not a chance, the world and his dog has known he wants out, he's just waited until now to take the financial hit on losing his loyalty bonus.

The bolder bit is in response to the idea that Spurs (for example) don't want him that badly because they're leaving it late. I'm suggesting that extending that logic to it's natural conclusion means we would also not particularly want anyone that we haven't already signed otherwise we would have done it sooner.

I have no idea if Ross will move, and if he does where. Nor do I particularly care - I like him a lot as a player but once he's gone he'll be like every other opposing player as far as I'm concerned - someone I don't give a second thought. I just think those who are seemingly so sure that he's got no options and will fall flat on his face are likely to be proved very wrong.

No, not saying they wouldnt mind him, but if they really really wanted him, they would have bid for him in case someone else does. And given the circumstances now, the club either seek to max out on him this window, or play him till January/next Summer.

Correct.
Imagine Burnley getting good money for two players in their last year and Everton fannying about..
Nothing has....

Yeah but im sure there would of been more then one club after both Gray and Keane, but zero clubs seem to be interested in Barkley, we approached Burnley which keeps the fee high, but not one is calling us up about Ross, which says a lot, besides they are both better players then Ross so we cant expect a similar fee

How is it there? You're essentially saying he's currently better than Snides, Gana, Pickford, Keane, Coleman and Baines when he performed similarly to Mirallas in a similar role last year despite way more game time.

Yes, he's a better footballer than all of the ones you've mentioned.

Keep hearing this. Why haven't they bid then? Even made an opening bid of about £18m? They've got no competition so there's a free run at him, and they know we'd sell. Why isn't it getting done?

Why waste the time? Especially if we have/did slap £50million on his head early doors.

Spurs haven't bid for ANYONE never mind Barkley, who they can get relatively easy. It's just how they and some clubs are operating now.

It'll all kick off in that last week in the transfersl window, as usual, and the only why the price goes higher is if more than one club comes in.

Everton may have a few more cards to play than perhaps thought. Leon Osman mentioned that if Everton keep Ross then with it being a World Cup year he will be desperate to be part of the squad and to play. We can then just say, sign a new contract and give him a verbal agreement that he will be sold to the first team who offers our valuation.......otherwise, there's the under 8's, pity about the World Cup....

lol Come on fella, half those players are internationals while Barkley isn't even rated by half of his own fan base, even Cleverly had a side who wanted him

Niasse is an International, guess he must be boss. Your point about Cleverly is an absolute train wreck as well. You think Watford etc wouldn't want Barkley ? Lol.

Snides - Been here half a season and has been decent at times but hasn't shown anything in particular to get hyped over.
Gana - Top grinder, not the greatest of footballers though
Pickford/Keane - Played a grand total of 1 competitive match for us
Coleman - He's ace, love him... but wouldn't ever try and claim he's better at football than Barkley
Baines - Miles past his best

So yes, I rate Barkley higher than all of them and I'm fairly sure many other people do as well.
