You don't need to convince me on this Dave.
I've said many times Koemans ultimatum of 'weeks' at the end of last season has made him look a tit over this.
I was just stating what other clubs are getting for players ( inferior ones to Ross ) that are in the last year of contract.

If our gaffer had just kept his mouth shut, he wouldn't have to be walking this back right now. 2 weeks ago it was 100% he was leaving and now it's "oh of course he could stay and play a part".

It's idiotic to say he's defo leaving when there are NO bids on the table.

its a stupid comparison anyway, they are two completely different players with completely different skillsets.

Barkley would be a woeful right back and Coleman would be a woeful attacking mid

Also Colemans form had dipped long before his injury.
Not at all true about Coleman on either count.

Coleman played as a right midfielder for some time and did very well there until he was ready to move back .

I have been reading for years about Colemans lack of form, I haven't seen it and I think most objective commentators haven't either.

A player like Barkley should be sold for nothing short of £50M. However, we are in a poor negotiating position and the player wont stay here now. If it is Spurs with Barkley in their sights then Levy would be a fool for letting Everton get away with a fee of anywhere approaching £30M. IMO, he'll be sold for o more than £25M.

What does it matter to him how much a of a bargain Levy wants to drive? As long as the manager wants him he wont be arsed.
Nothing short of 50m now or 12 months time(when his contract has run out) ?

Dont recall Koeman saying he had no interest in him; just that he didnt want to sign a big contract, and then saying what everyone in football knows; players entering a final year are open season for suitors.

Unless you are Wenger that is.
His exact words from his press conference on 11th May:

"We dont wait until August. He accepts a contract or we will sell the player."

We're past that point of no return (unless he's now rowing back on it) and therefore the only conclusion to reach is he doesn't want him.

Really ? Because I lost count of how many people started moaning about his poor form in match threads over the past couple seasonS. His form had picked up a bit just prior to his injury though.

Barkley isn't a right sided midfielder either despite Koeman often playing him in that role.

Koeman never liked Barkley and has always been looking to push him out mate - Dave's opinion on that will certainly not be changed!

Neither. The club have played a nightmare game here. It;s certain now EFC will be losing out on tens of millions of pounds due to the criminal mishanding of this contract.
