I think they did.

Ideally, we all want them to hug and got on well. I am pretty sure no one want his Everton career to end in this manner.

Problem is there is nothing the club can do, they have tried everything im sure of it, treated him well, supported him, offered him a great contract but at the end of the day there is nothing we can do, he wants out, draw a line under it mate.

*gangsters* my arse.

Do you think someone could put the frighteners on an Everton player (or Liverpool for that matter) in this city and just force one out?

The clubs are the two biggest institutions in the place. No one would be allowed to successfully move against a player like that. It does not stack up whatsoever.

Errrrm Dave if they can force one to stay, why is it so hard to think they could force one to move?

BTW, Kanchelskis was effectively forced into moves about 5 times during his career due to people he was connected with and from some pretty big teams as well.

Go on then mate, illustrate 'exactly' what Everton would do if such a thing had happened?

Maybe he's just injured?

Remember the last time you all thought it was nonsense and then he had actual surgery? Perhaps learn a lesson from that?

No?

Alright then.

The op he had was an elective surgery mate, players have put those surgery off for years sometimes, very much like Niasse when he had his life saving wrist op

You clearly haven't been reading this thread too closely.

Of course some fans are not satisfied with the situation because if Barkley decides to leave on a free that will cost the club dearly. This is understandable.

I was getting a bit frustrated by his decision in the past because I do not understand why an Evertonian decides to reject a big contract to play for his boyhood club. Ok I might have said I was not too bothered about him leaving but that was said out of frustration. In the end if he stays and signs a new contract this will be only beneficial to the club. For me he is not irreplaceable like Lukaku but still, having him around with Rooney and Davies...

Apart from the whole not signing a contract thing, I agree with you.
Even when he scored at the back end of the season (just after he was sparked iirc) and jumped into the crowd pointing at the badge. Certainly didn't look like a player who would be looking for a move any time soon.
Having said that though, footballers can be dead weird.

and at the time that happened it was the perfect time for Koeman if he so wished to effectively end Ross's career due to the negative publicity, but rather than throw him under the bus, he actually backed and supported him hugely over the entire thing, strange behaviour for a manager wanting rid IMO

The gangsters said he can't talk about it.
You might be onto something here. I was a bit surprised that gangsters would give Rosscoe so much time (ie the transfer window slamming shut) to leave town. But I guess they've agreed that if Rosscoe keeps shtum then he can have that extra time.
Just speculation like, but it sounds a reasonable quid pro quo

The RS would send Aldo to sort it if it was them.

If only Rooney can get a clear the room talk for Barkley and Koeman...oh well. To leave Everton when the club is going in the right direction at a crucial time. Just odd.

Maybe just maybe he's not as much an Evertonian as we think
Maybe he's just as mercenary as 95% of all footballers today.
Heard a quote over the weekend that the Spurs players congratulated Rose for having the bottle to come out and call Spurs on their wages and transfer policy
