Presumably Spurs. Like anyone in the world, he's free to choose where he works. I know football fans have trouble with this concept though.

If he had his heart set on Spurs why is he at Chelsea's training ground? He could reject it completely a la Sissoko to us.

Don't profess to be an expert on medicals but how is it possible he could have passed one with a hamstring injury that'll keep him out for months?
Sounds like the club were keen to accept a balance the books deal from Chelsea but Barkley simply refused because he wants to go to Spurs.

Medicals don't involve them testing every single muscle in your body, couple of x rays, pee in a pot, heart thingy with a bit of light jogging or cycling and some muscle flexibility measurement stuff. That's what they did at Sheff united when I was at uni and they were in the Prem then. Plus they already know he's got an injury before putting money on the table for him.

They acknowledge a preexisting condition, examine but in full awareness of it and take on the liability that it won't be a recurrent one/something that will effect him long term.

It happens all the time. The medical would have focused on all other aspects of his condition.

Keep his options open for January also covers the point I made about Spurs not moving for him now and going for him in January. If that's his preferred destination what are people expecting from in this situation? Sign for Chelsea when he doesn't want to?

I know the majority are out for blood with Ross, and I 100% want him to stay, but why are people flying off the handle on limited info ?

For him to make a move this summer there would have to be an option the player actually wants...no? If he has turned down the young player graveyard of Chelsea why do people assume it's to just go to them free in Jan?

And if he goes to Spurs for free in Jan surely that means Spurs just weren't willing to pay the dosh this summer? Is that the players fault? Maybe Spurs is his preferred option and in that case why should he ignore that just because the club wanted him gone to Chelsea?

Just putting the questions out there. Haven't exactly thought it fully through, but it seems the majority of posts in the last while are jumping the gun in their haste to castigate the player.

Of course we are castigating the player, he's just screwed the club even further. But I hope Moshiri does the right thing, screw him back. Let the fat lad get fatter, let him rot, give him no support, let him miss the WC, and let the fans know precisely what has gone on...... this lad has embarrassed the club and its supporters in a way that no player has ever done before......some hope he will stay, I for one hope he never wears our shirt angain.......

it's clear we don't have any chance of signing anyone else so does it really matter? We aren't accountants so as fans really an extra body in the squad is better for us especially as Rooney now has to be our striker til at least January

Give him a week to sign new contract with us and if he refuses stick him in u18s so no chance of world cup and refuse to sell in January just let him lose a year of football and send him in everton pr work where all the gangsters who are after him live
