2017/18 Ross Barkley

God forbid a player have a choice as to what team he joins. He should just go wherever benefits Everton the most...
Tbf mate its not like Chelsea are relegation fodder, he's saying he wants champions league etc they can offer him it. Just strikes me as him and his agent have something in place already with spurs "earning" them both a big lump sum. Club should have never let it get this dire for one of our most highly regarded players. He simply shouldn't be allowed to wriggle his way into the situation. It's us who lose out from all this, his injury means even making him train alone won't have that big of an effect if the rumours of him being out till early November are true.

He simply had to sign a new deal with us, no excuses! If he signs a pre contact with a foreign team in January or worse, a free with a PL club next summer then he has well and truly shafted us out of a transfer fee and because of his injury, it's not like he's losing time...

Barkley should have gone to Chelsea. He's daft not to. I don't buy this Spurs story. Would Levy bother to play such a long game with someone like Ross? And what can Spurs offer that Chelsea can't? More playing opportunities? Don't bet on it.
I reckon he just wanted to stay home when it came to the thing.
It'll maybe come out in the wash soon.

He's not really been setting the world on fire so his only value to a "large" club is his English passport & free transfer.

I doubt he'll sign for us if he still wants out now.

This is correct IMO.

And unless and until some Machiavellian shenanigans are revealed I am going with Occam's Razor.

The simplest answer is that when confronted with the finality of it all, Ross chose to stay.

;)

I would let him rot in les helms box room for 12 months. Any chance of a half decent fee went out the window tonight . He doesn't know how lucky he is to fight to wear that shirt. He'd rather plot with his agent to make £££££ . It's not as if he's skint as it is .

If this post makes no sense I'm not surprised I can barely see the screen through tiredness lol .

Yes because I get the impression he never wants to feel extorted regarding fees.

A differently run club. One that doesn't sack a manager after a bad half a season. Also maybe he prefers Pochettino to Conte and another reason could be he doesn't want to play in a 5-2-3 (3-4-3).

The context makes it look like he got a call from Tottenham saying sit tight til January (might not be fully fit til then) and they will pay the asking price then as Levy I don't think would pay 35m for a player with a year left on his contract.
