2017/18 Ross Barkley

I think Ross has been backed into a corner by poor management from Ronald and felt like he had no option but to seek a move. I think we need to look at the part Ronald has played in all of this. It's all well and good saying we like his no nonsense approach, but he only appears to have one approach, maybe he needs to recognise that each individuals needs are different and improve his own man management skills.

Sadly I don't think we'll see this improvement in Ronalds skill set and as a result there'll be continual fallouts with players and he'll depart for a bigger pay day leaving us with a disheartened broken squad.

Agree with this.

Also starting to think maybe Barkley knows all the aspirational sound-bites that continue to come from the upper echelons of the club are all BS - we're still sell to buy. He knows it and maybe he doesn't like it.

"Stones, Lukaku and Barkley won't be sold". 12 months later and he's the only one left....just.

Koeman offered him a new contract . He declined. He was holding the club to ransom , the club moved on.
This is Ross and his agent not our club or manager.

Ronald is the problem, so no matter what we offered him he'd want to go with him in charge. If reports are to be believed that Spurs is his favoured destination then that backs up the theory because he won't be earning more at Spurs than we offered him.

If Koeman and the club didnt want him, why would they offer a much improved contract?

That doesn't justify the personal abuse continually aimed at him for a while now. Not one bit. You don't pay money to have the right to give one eyed abuse to one of your own.
His actions so far are showing he's not "one of our own". I really hoped he'd stay and develop into the player he has the potential to be with us but if this is his way of getting out, as a boyhood blue then, while I certainly won't join in with name calling etc, he's only got himself to blame for any abuse he gets.

Exactly. I don't get how a local lad can turn his back on Everton but like you I don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I also don't feel empowered to abuse him or throw nasty slurs at him.

Ronald gives off a vibe that he couldn't give a toss if Ross stayed or not, I suspect Kenwright/Moshiri had more to do with the contract offer than Ronald and I reckon it's caused a bit of tension. Pure speculation obviously but the blame for this does not lie with Ross.

He wanted 150k , we didn't want to offer that. He didn't say he didn't want to play for koeman , it was money.
Koemans criticism was to improve him , it did and he played. It wasn't as if koeman forced him in to the reserves.
So I don't but your view tbh bungle mate.
Tbh only Barkley knows and he isn't doing anything honourable, like saying to the fans what his intentions are.
