2017/18 Ross Barkley

Unless he signs that contract soon then Barkley is completing shafting his so called 'boyhood' club. Absolute disgrace! Trying to come out saying he didn't turn them down mid medical but does that really matter, he turned down the Champions of England. What is he actually looking for if he doesn't want to be here then? Not getting much better than Chelsea. Either Spurs have tapped him up or Chelsea have told him till wait till January so we can get you cheaper for around £10 million or absolutely nothing. Nice pay day for him and his agent as well. No other explanation for it unless he wants to sign the contract we offered. He is costing the club millions. Should be made to train alone and take his locker away if he doesn't sign.

As far as I'm concerned it is too late for him to sign a contract. We've already paid for his replacements at great expense so there's no coming back from that.

If Spurs was his number 1 choice though, he wouldn't have gone to Chelsea, agreed terms and part done a medical.

No he doesn't though does he? Just because you can't cope with the idea that he may want to further his career doesn't mean you have the right to abuse him.

Calm yourself down and think about how he has been treated. If you went into work and you heard your manager continually criticising you would you be happy with it? You sit down with him and have a chat and think you've resolved it, then he heads straight back out and criticises you again.

Ronald has played this poorly IMHO.
Are you actually joking? How he has been treated badly? He kicks a football around a patch of grass, literally child's play and gets paid stupid amounts of money for it. Koeman was asked questions about Barkley in the media and he answered them. Simple as that. Criticism is part of any job, the criticism Koeman gave Barkley was constructive and justified imo. Mourinho and ironically poch have given far more scathing criticism of their own players in the media in the last 12 months than Barkley got but that's not being discussed here is it. Are they out of line too?

I can cope with the idea of him wanting to further his career, if he'd gone to Chelsea that would have given clear evidence of that. They are champions of England and regulars in the champions league. Fair play to him if he wants to challenge himself at that level and try work his way into their team. If however he strings us along who are still paying his wages to the tune of agreeing a fee with another club and him travelling down to London for a medical before then pulling out of a deal because he might be signing for spurs in 4 months that will see us get a slashed price for him then nah I think that's taking the piss. Plus him and his agent will get some nice big signing on fees. I certainly am not going to start thinking of how badly Barkley has been treated by his club and manager. Quite the opposite in fact.

Spot on mate.

And I 100% believe he pulled out of the deal during the medical. All this talk from his camp of that being bs is their way of trying to go someway to appeasing evertonians knowing he's heading back here. The abuse he'd get would be 100 times over what he'll get because now we don't know if he's come back to sign a new deal and stay or he's just taking $$$ off his transfer fee so he can get his move to spurs.

It's an emotive subject and you're quite angry and not thinking straight, let's leave it.

Lads it's a game of football. The names you're calling him and the slurs aimed at him because of your own anxieties is a bit mad isn't it? Especially if you're an adult.
Please stop shining a light on the fact that we're grown men spending our time gossiping about millionaires who, deep down, despise us.

The medical has showed his injury keeping him out until November. Chelsea have then said that they’ll probably pay less in January and put the rest to his salary. They’ve then agreed to call it quits until January. They’ll pay around £15/20m and give Ross an extra £5m. Saves them around £10m and we lose £10m.Everton just have to suck it up.

I feel I must commend you on your empathetic approach to upset posters this morning mate.

I'm sure they're finding great comfort from your kind words during their time of need

Hey mate it's easy to get angry about it and I fully understand their reasoning, I was in the same boat less than 24 hours ago. I'm just trying to make them see that the angry rant and hatred that some of them are filled with may well be getting directed at the wrong person.

Ross is not completely blameless and could maybe have handled certain elements of this a bit better, but let's not pretend this is all his own making and that nobody else should be shouldering a large part of the blame. I'm happy for them to use me as an emotional punchbag if it makes them feel better for a bit.

I've asked @Mrtallywacker to bless you as you go out about healing those that are damaged mate

His "people" are now claiming he didn't take a medical and was never in London, gets stranger by the minute.A statement from him would be a step in the right direction. But won't be holding my breath.
