Ross is the victim here lad, been hung out to dry by Moshiri and Koeman. Not the only player either, poor Oumar out in the cold as well.
Because he needs to reflect the anger of the fans from failing to buy a striker and a centre half and Ross is the perfect scapegoat for that.
I agree that a lot of fans are over reacting and showing a lot of hate before we know the full picture. But you're doing the exact opposite mate, defending Barkley 100% without knowing the full picture.
I've noted your other posts around players contract etc. You are quite correct that the player is entitled to see out his contract should he so wish. But equally fans have the right to voice their disapproval should he do so, especially somebody who, by his own words, loves the club as a fan, and has been with us since he was a toddler.
Had the club been trying to offload Barkley to a team like West Ham or Newcastle, to cash in on the player before his contract expired, I could understand him turning down the move. But we're talking Chelsea here, the reigning champions and one of the very few clubs able to offer regular champions league football which is apparently so important to him.
There can only be 3 possible reasons for Barkley turning down the move.
1) As the prospect of leaving his boyhood club came closer he realised that he didn't want to leave, that his future lay at Everton. The penny finally dropped so to speak. Quite possible and the scenario I'm clinging onto.
2) His medical wasn't going according to plan due to the hamstring injury, with Chelsea realising he wouldn't be available, fully match fit, until December. So they suggest delaying the transfer until January when they could get him cheaper and build the difference into his package. Again quite possible, but why let the lad take all the flack for this. All Chelsea had to say was that he failed the medical because the hamstring injury was worse than expected. Nobody would have been surprised at this and we wouldn't all be calling for Barkley's head.
3) The player would rather join another club (Spurs). They have told him/his agent to hold out until January when he is fit and would also, in theory, cost a lot less with only 6 months left on his contract. This is probably the most obvious reason of the 3 which is why most fans have got themselves worked up.
The club need to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible, and then make a statement to the fans. The easiest way to do this is to put the contract back in front of Ross now and give him a short deadline to sign it or not. If he really has changed his mind about leaving, then he shouldn't need much prompting, in fact he should be asking us to sign.
As I say, I really hope he signs, and I'm pretty sure the vast majority on here want him to sign too and would welcome him back if he does. Apart from the usual suspects of course.
If he doesn't sign then he deserves all the backlash that comes his way, from both the club and the fans. This is because he has basically screwed the club over good style, whether his actions are within his rights or not. If you can't see that then I suggest you have a very blinkered view.
For the moment, I don't think the club has hung him out to dry. Moshiri simply explained the situation as he understood it when asked the question. I'm prepared to give Barkley the benefit of the doubt until we find out the reasons behind last nights decision. But the club have to release the facts once they are available because not knowing is just creating a very toxic atmosphere around the club and player.
