2017/18 Ross Barkley

I think we should try a new holistic approach on treating his injury by putting a bowler hat on him, dressing him in orange, and get him to walk down some of Northern Irelands most staunch catholic areas with god save the queen blaring out of his ipod and two targets strapped to his kneecaps.

Quite apt seeing the order itself was founded after the so-called Battle of the Diamond, a skirmish that took place in County Armagh in 1795... :D
Thats probably safer for Ross than a night out in town these days.

I personally think Ross has a few demon's.
I will be careful with what i say and i will point out that this is just a presumption.......I dont have any info, and i am basing this purely on my guess work and nothing else.
I remember watching a documentary about drugs in football, and when players failed tests it would stay under wraps, the club would then agree with the anti doping foundation to induce a club ban, but claim injury.
Remeber the begining of Martinez's second season and Ross was out for around 3 months the day before the season started due to a "training" injury?
Random skin head at swansea? Certain toxents stay in your hair longer than they stay in your urine or your blood
Again we are in a pretty similar situation, with a similar time out, could purely be a coincidence of course.
Alot of this got highlighted last year with Berahino, when WBA sold him Pulis was quick to tell everyone the real reason he had not been playing.
Moshiri didnt sound happy at all with Ross on his phone call yesterday and with Koeman's persistance to not pander to Ross, is that a case of the 2 of them want him out of the club for other reaasons?

Basicly, is Ross troubled in the head, is he around a bad crowd, has he been caught a couple of times on drug tests? Wether it be performance enhancing or social?

1+1+haircut = 427384?

If the company I wanted to work for told me to hold out until January when they would offer me a contract then I'd do it. My priority in life is my career, not making my current company as much money as possible.

Not comparable. Footballers are the asset to football clubs and if they all did like you said the game would not exist. We have nurtured the assets and made them more valuable while giving them a top class living. The said assets are what makes football teams survive and continue to ply there trade. Your comparison applies to backroom staff and the likes. Players are products that's football and Ross will get what he wants maybe at the expense of his wage payer who made him an asset.

Just call him a smack rat and be done with it lol

Offer him a contract with a realistic release clause. Nobody knows on the outside. Everybody happy - fans ignorantly so.

He then needs to get fit and in the team.

Of course he might be a greedy so and so who wants a bigger signing on fee as a free agent or another club have told him that they'll sign him in January if he proves his fitness.

Why would you sign him now with his injury. Why not wait until Jan. Chelsea may have their own issues.

He has been treated poorly by Koeman. Argue all you like that he should be mentally stronger, but he isn't, so to continually pick fault with him in public seems out of order to me.

He does seem to single Ross out, but you nor I know if there is a reason for this, just conjecture like but is it attitude, is he listening to Koeman ? Can not see Koeman picking on him for no reason, does not excuse putting it in public like. But I feel Koeman has every right to ask him to sign a contract, we pay his wages and if he's not answering Koeman or not putting in a transfer request, what's Koeman to do ?

Footballers are the asset to football clubs and if they all did like you said the game would not exist.

1. They don't all do it, so not sure why you're discussing what would happen if they all did it
2. Even if they all did it the sport would still exist, it would just have a different finance model (some would argue that the abolishment of transfer fees would improve the sport btw)
3. Thousands of players in countless leagues over the years have done the same as Barkley, footballs still here.

nurtured the assets and made them more valuable while giving them a top class living. The said assets are what makes football teams survive and continue to ply there trade.

You just described thousands of employees in regular jobs around the world

This is what i dont understand, why were Chelsea even talking to him? Makes no sense, if anything I wonder if he backed out because Chelsea had some terms he didnt like, i dunno, but its weird Chelsea trying to buy a player now they cant play anyway, just a shame it didnt go through, let him be someone else's problem not ours

Its absolutely comparable

No it wouldn't exist as we know it and it's still not comparable to a normal workplace.

I never once got sold by any of my companies because I was not a saleable asset.

I may have been valuable to them but I wasn't able to be sold.

Stop eating pies and cheese, cut down on the golf, start taking his job seriously and show a little more commitment, take some self improvement classes, get his GCSE in maths and English at a local college and go and manage in another country. All of those please.

Because if he re-signs a contract then his price balloons or he's flat out unavailable, so if you rate the player you don't take that risk.
