2017/18 Ross Barkley

his reasons for leaving are supposedly champions league, success and to challenge himself. Chelsea came calling. Ticking all of those boxes. His reasoning for leaving is bs. Let him rot if he doesn't sign.

When did he give those reasons for wanting to leave Everton ? I don't remember him ever making any kind of statement relating to wanting to leave.

Somehow really Ross no idea Barkley is really daft like . He upsets the gangster and gets smacked for his troubles , now he's seems to have wound up our faithful supporters and sounds like he's gonna get another smack in the face .

So you admit he is mentality weak then? He did not even kick a ball for Chelsea. The worst thing is that his refusal to sign a new deal and running down his contract, and costed Everton millions of pound in progress.

Rooney had done what he had to do in 2004. He let the club banked a good amount.

why is he mentally weak ?, because he is probably aware he wouldn't get in the team. that doesn't make him mentally weak, that probably makes him a realist. when I went to work there wasn't one person who thought he'd get in the team.and again, it seems folks can't get around the fact the lad didn't want to sign for Chelsea. he isn't obliged to sign for a club he doesn't want to play for, surely that makes sense to folks.

ok, the crux is that he's cost the club millions by not signing a new contract, btw nobody knows for sure after yesterday whether he will or he won't, and lets not pretend that all the fault lies with the player, there is a management in place to deal with issues and contracts. they have seemingly messed up as much as anyone, it wasn't like they didn't see it coming, the injury hasn't helped either party or any potential buyers i'd have thought.

simple truth is a player didn't want to sign for a particular club for whatever reasons he had. he hasn't done it to spite anybody, he's not going to get pushed into a club because it suits his old employers, simple as,

Why did he agree personal terms then?

Remember when he scored a couple of months ago and he was giving it large on the advertising hoardings to the Lower Gwladys?
As if to say "I'm one of yous".

What was that all about?

It is frustrating for us because we're left with an injured player who seemingly doesn't want to play for us. He's drawing a wage and also has most likely reduced the fee we'll get.

If he goes to Chelsea in January it'll be very annoying as we'll essentially have paid for him to get fit for the move. If he was holding out for Spurs they'll screw us on the fee.

If he really didn't fancy the move I don't blame him personally. I'd be upset if I felt forced to take a job I dislike. It's still frustrating for us and the club though.

Wouldn't it be nice if signed the deal and knuckled down? Unlikely though.

Whatever the truth is, the lad will only be going to the World cup if he signs a new contract and gets back in the team. His loyalty is misplaced if he thinks Spurs is good for his career as they have not showed that they really want him with their joke of a bid. In fact they have just killed his career and made him into a laughing stock, this lad is in for a rough ride these next few months.

do you remember David Unsworth signing for Villa , and within a month was pleading to go back to Everton because he knew he'd made a mistake, never even played a game cause he knew it wasn't right.

nobody knows, my guess is he knew it wasn't right for him, the money was good i'd imagine, the pressure was immense from all parties, but the move clearly wasn't.

Interesting take Bilko....hadn't considered that tbh.

He's been at the club for more than 12 years, I don't see how he's "screwed us" - it seems to me more like our manager (who has been here about a year) is prepared to cash him in - sure he's been offered a new contract, but there have also been 3 or 4 signings in his position.

Three or four signings because Ross hasn't delivered. Where's the issue with that?
