2017/18 Ross Barkley

Im on my own amongst a sea of Everton fans who can't look past understandable bias towards the club we support.

Plenty of neutrals would share my view.

No sorry, I was fully supporting Ross in his stance right up until last night.

The problem isn't him wanting to move on, it's how he's gone about it. It's about respect for an institution that made you. If the club didn't want to negotiate with Spurs due to an illegal approach, then he should have either respected it and moved elsewhere, or he should have put his cards on the table and told the club he wasn't going anywhere else.

Instead, he allowed the club to agree terms with Chelsea, then agreed personal terms, and had a medical at the very least arranged before pulling the plug. Therefore, he's stitched up the club - he's completely thrown our business off course. If his aim was to run the contract down, simply tell the club that this summer and so be it, we can plan around it and move on.

I have no problem with Barkley furthering his career, but if it's at the expense of harming the club when it could easily be avoided, then he's a disrespectful "breast" and needs calling out on it.

There is more to life than money. He is a young man earning millions of pounds for playing football. He will continues to earn millions of pounds wherever he goes. I am upset that my club has lost money, but that really is a secondary issue, he has turned his back on the tens of thousands who loved him, worshipped him, and the young kids who looked up to him. He has behaved like a total shiite and, unlike Rooney, will never be wanted back in his home city. Once he's gone, he's gone, but while he is here, I hope he has the most miserable experience of his life. Even if he signed for us tomorrow he is dead to many Evertonians. At least judas Barmby stabbed us in the front.........

Like you voting Tory.

Sssssssssnake

Nephew is gutted he doesn't want to stay with us as normally has Barkley on his shirt every year since the year Barkley had the skinhead! His mum wouldn't let him have the hair to match then!

Mad it's probably how I felt over Rooney back in the day. But in my adult mind Ross is more baffling than devastating. Just doesn't make sense more than anything.

Actually annoys me that he sees Spurs as such a better proposition as although they've had higher leave positioning than the likes of Man Utd/City/Arsenal they don't have quite the 'eliteness' about them. Hope they have bad season coz I'm a bitter blue.

Decency and honour must be like poo to you then. The club trained him guided him and gave him what he got so if he decides to leave, have some decency and let the club bank a good fee.

I believe people who defend him are delusional. You are one of them. Like the supporter of Barkley not the club.
I'm not so much defending him as trying to tell you he has the right to look after himself - make his own choices - irrespective of the feelings of super fans like yourself.

The bitterer the betterer.........

So a player that doesn't want to sign for Chelsea , who wouldn't get anywhere near the first team and probably knows that,he might make the league cup side at best,is a rat for not doing the honourable thing and not putting he's short career as a footballer on hold,so Everton can get a nice wad of cash from him.
serious lids, if you were in his shoes, would you sign for a club given those circumstances ???

So you admit he is mentality weak then? He did not even kick a ball for Chelsea. The worst thing is that his refusal to sign a new deal and running down his contract, and costed Everton millions of pound in progress.

Rooney had done what he had to do in 2004. He let the club banked a good amount.

It reminds me of when Athletic Bilbao were going well under Bielsa. Javi Martinez and Fernando Llorente were their two prized assets. Both wanted to leave and had lots of offers. Javi Martinez signed a new contract and Bayern paid 40 million for him. Llorente decided not to sign and left on a free to Juventus.
Ross would have my respect if he'd chosen the Javi Martinez route but he's chosen the Llorente path and I find that hard to accept in a boyhood blue.

Whatever happens, however the next 6-12 months pan out, I just hope that once he leaves his career goes downhill. I hope he looks back for the rest of his days and regrets not signing his contract. The bad little beaut!
