This is simple. He costed us a whopping £35m fee yesterday. In Jan the tapping up club will make a crap offer like £15m we will reject it and he will walk on a free next summer.

If he has decency he would have signed a new deal to let his so-called boyhood club getting a good fee for selling him. He screwed us big time here.

Why should the manager must blow smoke up his a? 3/4 signings are here to create competition. If he thinks he is better than he is then leave but no he screwed the club over yesterday by rejecting the Champion of PL the unfaithful xyz#.
He hasn't screwed the club over. The manager doesn't really rate him and is happy for him to leave. He has every right to make the best move for himself - not worry about 10m here or there.

Does he realise that if Spurs wanted him that much they would have ponied up the 35 m
It must irk ROSS that they will only buy him as a bargain bucket purchase rather than a top grade player
If he was that key to Spurs plans they would have paid up
They were in the black this window

Does it not bother you. Does it not feel wrong that a supposed blue could do this. Are you that distanced from the emotions of the fans that it doesn't hurt you. I am one of life's hard nosed dispassionate people who would think nothing of making thousands redundant, or sending troops into battle, if it was rationally required. But doing this to our club, a club he supposedly loves is beyond the pale........

From a selfish personal perspective I'm gutted he's chosen to move to another club rather than stay at Everton but I'm sure he has his reasons and ultimately it's his choice. His career has without question stagnated somewhat so I can understand why he might feel its best to go elsewhere.

Im sure if Spurs had matched Chelsea's bid he'd be a Spurs player now but sadly for us they didn't. Its unfortunate but at the same time id be lying if I said I actually cared about losing out on the fee, no guarantee it would have been invested back into the squad. Losing out on that money isn't going to magically make or break Everton given the insane amount of money in the league nowadays due to TV deals... and if I'm wrong and it does have a big effect then we've got bigger worries than his loyalty.

But yes, I am gutted he's leaving and the irrational part of my brain thinks the same way as you and many others do, the difference is I pay more attention to the rational part of my brain which tells me that he shouldn't have to compromise on one of the biggest life decisions you can make just so he can maximise the amount of profit he makes his current club who is owned by a billionaire.

Maybe if we were some bumblesquat lower league team who were struggling financially id understand it, but we're a very wealthy premier league team...

and why do you think there has been 3 or 4 signings in his position. Because he has refused to sign a contract that was offered which translates to he doesn't want to play for us. If Koeman didn't want him then a contract would not have been offered, surely.
im not sure on the timing - but he has every right to assess his options - see who has been brought in.

Who are you to tell Barkley what he should do with his life? You have a strange concept of delusional. The club can move on and so can Barkley.

Decency and honour must be like poo to you then. The club trained him guided him and gave him what he got so if he decides to leave, have some decency and let the club bank a good fee.

I believe people who defend him are delusional. You are one of them. Like the supporter of Barkley not the club.

So a player that doesn't want to sign for Chelsea , who wouldn't get anywhere near the first team and probably knows that,he might make the league cup side at best,is a rat for not doing the honourable thing and not putting he's short career as a footballer on hold,so Everton can get a nice wad of cash from him.
serious lids, if you were in his shoes, would you sign for a club given those circumstances ???

Ross signed a contract for his professional activities until the end of next season, Everton can choose if they wish to end that contract as they wish, eg for the right price.
Its not be in their interest to sell at a lower price to suit the player, why would they?

What's unpalatable is that part of his 'MO' is local boy, playing for his team. This seems to of been quickly forgotten by him.

Therefore the club can play hard ball on the fee, and us fans can feel hoodwinked in relation to his casual discard of his Evertonian mantra.
If he spends the rest of the season not playing, as is Evertons prerogative, it's based on his choice to benefit as much as possible from his orchestrated position.

ps - I hope he still fulfills his EitC commitments - interesting to see if he does.

Personally, yes, but I'd have confidence in my ability to get in the side. I don't think Barkley lacks that confidence either, or he'd just pen a new deal here.

I seriously doubt they are the reasons he didn't sign yesterday.

Maybe he thinks Barkley is world class and no need any competition for place. Plus he was not signing a new deal so we had to sign new players as replacements.

You are on your own Longers. You I am afraid are being delusional if you don't see he has stitched us up. Everton would have let Ross go to his preferred club if that club met our valuation but they didn't so some under handedness is probably going on between Ross and Spurs and if true then he is biting the hand that fed him. Please don't compare it to a normal job

Im on my own amongst a sea of Everton fans who can't look past understandable bias towards the club we support.

Plenty of neutrals would share my view.

There is more to life than money. He is a young man earning millions of pounds for playing football. He will continues to earn millions of pounds wherever he goes. I am upset that my club has lost money, but that really is a secondary issue, he has turned his back on the tens of thousands who loved him, worshipped him, and the young kids who looked up to him. He has behaved like a total shiite and, unlike Rooney, will never be wanted back in his home city. Once he's gone, he's gone, but while he is here, I hope he has the most miserable experience of his life. Even if he signed for us tomorrow he is dead to many Evertonians. At least judas Barmby stabbed us in the front.........
