2017/18 Ross Barkley

After thinking about it I have changed my mind about Ross. OK, he wants to leave and appears to have shafted the club but, when you think about it, why should he go somewhere he really didn't want to go in the first place? We all know he wants to go to Spurs. Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner - er, scratch that, the song just popped into my head! Maybe it's because he thinks Pochettino will develop him, maybe it's because he thinks he'll get more playing time, maybe it's because he just prefers the club. But when you think about it, who of us would go to work for a company who our current bosses decide we should go - or our agent decides we should go? (Anyone got an agent by the way?)

We all have a right to change our mind after all.

I don't think Everton put a gun to his head and forced him to agree terms with Chelsea and do a medical.

If he wanted Spurs that much he could have just sat tight and rejected their approach straight away and say "no thanks I'm only interested in Spurs"

No doubt he will end up there in the end but 100% imo he's made himself look a right tit.

Realist really? What I read from his action is that he might be 50:50 about going to Chelsea. Then like his performance on the pitch, he was being indecisive. As some reports said he went over to London to have medical but pull off in the middle of it. Face it, it's either his agent got an assurance from Spurs for getting him on cheap or Chelsea asked him to stay put because he was injured until Decemeber, then they came back with a crap offer in January.

Now you ain't a realist afterall. Koeman signed a lot of replacements and Moshiri said in the Sky interview that he is the 4th choice to play the no.10 position or something. What makes you think he will sign a new deal all of a sudden, having stay mute and declining to sign one for 6 months? However, I do agree the board shares the blame for the current situation, if he isn't signing a new deal, sell him last summer...now we are risking it and I do believe the board tried to amend by forcing a move to Chelsea.

I have to be honest on this, he was screwing the club big time here by rejecting to join the PL Champion. He may set his sight on Spurs since early last season and while the cheeky b Spurs won't bid £35m, his action put his proclaimed boyhood club of losing a potential £50m (if he has a long contract) in today's market. As an Evertonian, don't you feel that is digesting act? It has done Everton zero favour.

Agree but better to sell him on Jan 2017 as we should give him to consider just like lukaku.
Actually, if Barkley really insists to join Spurs, we will finally let him go with a cheaper price(maybe 20M) before the window closed.
We may even invite Spurs to give offer to him. It is still better to receive nothing from him now.
But now we will be the only loser...Do we still need to support this selfish boy?

Yep.

But there's a colossal difference between being treated unfairly and feeling you're being treated unfairly.
The main person in all this is Barkley. He is the one who won't command the fee he should or play again for us - - it was probably in the clubs interest to treat Barkley in a different way - to eventually get a better fee for him. The manager wants to have a different kind of mentality around the club - something the fans want too. We just have to accept that Barkley doesn't fit into this and let him find his next club.
I'm really disappointed that we haven't got a forward - disapponted in the way the club has seemingly needed the Barkley sale to fund it - and disappointed that the sale hasn't been handled differently, but I can't blame Barkley for wanting to move on.

And it should be. If the player isn't performing the manager has a duty to call him in over it. If he fails to respond then action is required....its the same in every job.
Does Barkley really think the likes of Potch or Conte will give him more slack, than the likes of koeman? If anything they will be even more demanding.

Yep.

This......

I think Road has followed the guidance of his agent who has no interest in the welfare of him.....ross and HIS family will be subject to stick for the rest of his life by some fans unfortunately in their home city.

The manner of screwing his boyhood club over to such a bad extent knowing the club is in a phase we haver never seen is mind boggling

Hearing people say it's his relationship with Koeman ....he will not be at EFC in 2 years but Barkley is a lifelong evertonian by all accounts and will be playing football for many years to come. ...

I hope he isn't looking at Rooney and thinking he can come back like him as what he is doing is so bad, treacherous in comparison to Barmby and Rooney.....utter c@unt

There's no denying that
