So, if Ross doesn't go, even though Koeman said "he's 100% going", whose 'Everton career is over'?

Barkleys, he refused to sign a contract effectively closing his Everton career, shame really he decided to do this after the support he has had from the club and manager but its his call

Let's be honest he's had no support from his manager. At every opportunity koeman has publicly criticised him. That is something you should never do as a manager

Why is Barkley's career at Everton over if he doesn't move?
Koeman has said he'll play him if he's still here.
What is obvious is that Koeman should just stop spouting stuff about things he can't control.

He'll be sold, he wouldn't get a starting place in the team even if he did decide to stay. He wants out, we can get a few bob for him now or nothing next summer. Simple logic.

Nearly fell off my chair there, the star on top of the tree would've been for you to say how much you've supported him, or did you include that in the 'support he has had' bit?

If Koeman had said nothing, when asked about Barkley having 1 year left on his contract and there being no noises about him being offered a new one, every man and his dog would be hounding him for that and not being transparent with the fans.

Options were =

1. ignore the questions, tell nobody anything and let Barkley run his contract down and leave for nothing - he gets slated for it.
2. let people know a new contract is on the table and club policy is that if not signed he will have to be sold - he gets slated for it.

Can't really win can he?

He's been paid good money since a kid, taught at a Class 1 academy & given the chance to play for his boyhood team in front of his blue family at GP in the world's most popular league.

I'd call that support.

Christ, another one in the "poor Ross, he's been treated terribly by the manager, club and fans" brigade. If he's leaving because of the rumoured reason (his personal life) he can only blame himself. One person has decided to refuse the contract - Ross Barkley.

To break this down into easy logical steps..
Apparently, Ross is crap and only the likes of wba will sign him (he won't go there).
Apparently, Ross is good and the likes of man u or man c or spurs are after him but, they won't pay the fee.
If, no club pays what we want, he stays and Koeman has said he'll play him. It's not difficult to understand, surely?

Sorry mate, that's just tripe.
Koeman consistently said he was much improved and wanted to keep him. Barkley refused a new deal and so forced Koemans, hand to say with just 12 months left on his contract he has to be sold.

He said he'll train with the first team; nothing about actually playing him. Barkley has chosen his side and if no one buys him he leaves next summer on a free watching his mates on TV play in the World Cup.

Just for the avoidance of any doubt about what Koeman said......

Koeman can't really win, you're right, for a couple of reasons I think..
He did (noone can logically disagree with this), go out of his way to talk about Ross, a lot, in comparison to others.
The 'board' should have had the contract done and dusted before Koeman arrived. Like they did with Gibson and Koeman agreed to the contract extension for him, even though (as proved later), he wasn't part of his plans.

This should've been handled better.
