2017/18 Ross Barkley

Koeman can't really win, you're right, for a couple of reasons I think..
He did (noone can logically disagree with this), go out of his way to talk about Ross, a lot, in comparison to others.
The 'board' should have had the contract done and dusted before Koeman arrived. Like they did with Gibson and Koeman agreed to the contract extension for him, even though (as proved later), he wasn't part of his plans.

This should've been handled better.

So why are people slating Koeman? what do you actually want him to do? allow Barkley to run his contract down if he is not signing it or sell him?

That's the spirit - blame the club.

I want him to manage the team, with the players available to him.
I don't expect him to be involved with players contracts, as he's stated previously, the DoF does that?

Q. Who do you want to blame? A. Ross. That would be a good fit for you but, do you actually think his contract negotiations should've been started with 15 months left to run?
So, yes I blame the club.

He's doing that pretty well mate, got us back into europe in his first season and is having to rebuild with our top scorer leaving and our once most creative player not wanting to sign a contract and stay.

Get behind him, when you get through the crap he is actually doing a decent job.

Doesn't matter when his contract offer was made - two years ago or last week. The fact was he was offered one, he turned it down. So Ross is to blame for this situation.

He was asked questions, he answered them! The press have always been obsessed with Barkley so that's why he seemed to be talking about him more than others.
15 months left is more than enough time to negotiate a new contract, why make a 4 year contract if it only really means 2... it was offered he refused, the club have time to sell him before he leaves for nothing... ridiculous how anyone can say this is the clubs fault

It does matter though, if he was offered and signed a contract before Koeman became manager, then we wouldn't be losing out on millions!

You're presuming Koeman has anything to do with this decision. Rumour has it the real reason is that Ross can't keep it in his pants and some meffs are threatening him.

As for losing out on millions - again, that's down to Ross. He refused the contract.

It's easy really mate..
a player with a 1 year contract is cheaper to buy than a player with a 2 year contract. Hence why Koeman said 'all the stuff he said about Lukaku and Barkley and their contracts!'
To be perfectly clear about this..'Make sure people who are good at footy are signed on another contract before the (un)foreseen eventuality of them leaving for f all!'

So it is not Koemans fault, glad we got that one clarified.

See what happens when we all pull together :drunk:

In your world, everything seems nice and fluffy apart from the evil Ross but, Koeman is there to save us all.
Until, he moves to Barca.
Personally, don't mind that because we will be doing well but, again we will watch 'one of our own' play their best footy for another team.

What an absolutely bizarre conclusion you have come to there from what I have written about this subject.

Seriously mate, try reading what people write instead of living in a non moveable thought bubble.

If that's the real reason, why are you so angry about it?

It probably isn't like but, curious as to why your argument has changed?
