Wrong. Again.
I said it was all about money. Not merely salaries. And off you go on a spin about CFC paying more than others.
If Barkley goes in winter, Spurs will not pay more than 20 million. Why should they? If he goes next summer then Levy gets him for free.
If Barkley sticks it out till next summer then he will get a multi-million signing on fee from a grateful Levy. And possibly a smaller fee for dragging it out to next winter.
Chelsea is the money option for EFC not Barkley.
You are not quite grasping it are you? I admit to being a little frustated at first but then i remember you are the person who said if Everton ever allow Robles to leave he will goto Real Madrid or Barca.
I will break it down into stages for you. Firstly, this is a post by me on Thursday night
His agent has played the game and won.
He knows a much lower fee in January will mean more money for a signing on fee. Probably his agent and Chelsea have cooked up this plan.
Why would Chelsea want to pay 35 million for a player who is injured till December. Wait till January and get him for 15 million, extra 5 million for Ross and his agent for playing along.
Get us to pay Ross while he recovers.
Now, you seem to think that it will only be Spurs coming in for him come January and Chelsea will disappear all together. They might come back in for him and if they do, the facts show that Chelsea's wage bill is more than double ours and Spurs. On top of that, the facts show that Chelsea pay more than double in agent fees than us and Spurs combined.
So if its going to be about money as you say, it will be Chelsea.
I hope this clears it up. Also, take notice of what one of the Spurs fans have said
Exactly. Spurs players get between £40k & £110k per week. For argument sake lets assume Barkley would be paid £80k pw. At Chelsea he would earn at least £125kpw (probably more). Over the course of a 5 year contract he would earn £11.7mn less in wages. Even if Spurs paid him a £5mn signing on fee (we wouldn't) he is still £6.7mn worse off.
So while i can understand the frustration of EFC fans regarding missing out on a nice transfer fee (would rankle me in the same situation) accusations of being a 'money grabber' are wide of the mark (IMO).
