Will he be willing to accept £60k a week from Spurs? Because they're currently refusing to offer their best defender Alderweireld any more than that with 18 months remaining on his contract.

Contract till 2020, and on 75k per week according to reports.

Spurs have a stricter wage budget than the likes of City, United and Chelsea but they are in excess of 125 million wage bill.

We are in the region of 85 million.

He did, and more importantly, he reacted badly to it. Whether that ,makes him a wimp or whatever you feel, he got a lot of abuse in earshot and it badly affected him and his game. As I keep saying, you could see his head drop from a mile off as soon as it started.

I heard his Diamond song being sung regularly home and away in preference to any other song for any other play (bar perhaps Seamus). There was a flag bigger than the Gwladys at one particular game with his grid on it. Heard a few arl'arses and a few biffs who could barely grow a moustache groaning every time he was indecisive in his final ball. If that's "a lot of abuse" then footballs not the game for Ross, or any other sport where there's a decent crowd.

He's been manipulated by his agent who's realised he's got a great opportunity in a stupid market to earn a wedge by not signing the most lucrative contract Everton have ever offered. Cock-all to do with Koeman. All to do with money, opportunity, niaivity and weakness.

Reports I've seen are that he's on £50k a week til 2019 and clubs have been alerted that he might want to leave next summer if not offered a new deal.

Spurs only have two players on more than £100k a week, Kane and Lloris. We pay Wayne Rooney more than they pay Kane, one of the best strikers in the world.

Don't always agree with you, but great post.

Spot on, Koeman is making a lot of mistakes, but this isnt one of them. There is nothing he can do to force a player to stay, especially when he wants to leave Everton for one reason only, a nice big bumper pay out

Except that he rejected a lucrative move to Chelsea to sign for a club that will pay him less than we will....

Rubbish, head in the sand post.

The away lot are decent, but home crowd only REALLY got behind him with flags etc when steven gerrard and other media started to point out what utter bells our fans had been to him, a joke realiy....and he carried all the pressure.

Team lost....ross is to blame....not the other 10 on the pitch.

Only Gana was even close to this mythical "consistancy" standard blues demanded. No player under 25 in attack mid position in prem delivers every game ffs.

Someone pointed out on here, last season in this so called poor season, he got 9 man of the match awards on the forum, and another 10 he was in the top 3. Thats about half the games he was one of the best on the pith....thats 1 in 2 being good....

Im not sure.I've said a bit about Ross on this thread. But im starting to think now that Koeman is trying to drive him out of the club.

He played 36 games out of 38 in the league last season, hardly the actions of somebody getting "driven out the club".

Yes, but last season apparently he struggled to get into our team.....and needed to play for us first before getting in the england squad.

Ross was and still is our best player. I'd drop Koeman immediately, and sell three quarters of the squad if it meant the lad would have a change of heart and sign back with us. He has been our entire creative force. Rom banged in the goals as he is a boss finisher, but Ross pulled the strings. The lad has been this squad's heart beat, and without him the whole lot look trash. They have no purpose to their passing or offensive strategy. All of our signing have been nice role players that provide value in their area of specialty; except Wayne, bin him immediately. None of our signings have the capability to take over a game though. Ross brings that to the table.
