Mate. I have more respect for you and Tel in this thread because at least you have been consistent with your views and aren't just jumping on the merrygoround. But I'm never going to agree with you. 100% I'd pick Barkley first and then pick a team around him. Based in the players we have now I might add.

If he’s signed and his head is back in the game, he’s first on the team sheet for me. Figure out who plays best with him not the other way around. I’d have Rooney and Ross in there and then start placing the puzzle pieces in around that.
If he had any intention of staying he would have signed by now. Probaly told at the Chelsea medical that he had an injury and wouldn’t be fit for 6 months.
Makes sense for Chelsea or who ever to tell Ross to hang on till January and move then rather than a club splashing 20million on a player who can’t play.

Agree with this. He's never given an interview or been featured with EITC activities while he's been injured. i don't think I've seen him at any matches this season either.

Heres the simple fact. Barkley is not the type of player who can lead a top 4 side. He can certainly be a star in a 7-10th side. But that position is one of the 3 most important in a CL team, and hes just not CL quality because hes too one dimensional. Players in that position are the best passers on their team, the best in the world at it, and thats just not his strength.

They ‘apparently’ want to sign him, but I highly doubt it is to lead their team. It is much more likely to be an impact sub. He is a good player but not the world class player that people on here seem to think he is. He Is a big fish in a small pond here but that would reverse at Spurs or Chelsea.
