Not sure if your serious anymore tbh. Yes, I'm sure that I've never once called for Ross to leave or wanted him gone until he started all this nonsanse and even know id love to see a massive about turn and see him stay.
I certainly am serious. Some people have slated him for a long time before the contract issue. If you're not one of them - fine.

Unless I am mistaken, he was a complete disaster in the first half of last season, so he got stick, like every other player does!

When he had a turn of form from Christmas onwards, he was lauded and supported, like every other player who plays well gets!

Football fans are fickle, that is a fact. Footballers form is in and out, unless they are world class, of which he isn't.

No idea why you feel the need to make special dispensation for Ross Barkley and feel he is a victim, he gets as much and the same as every player if they underperform.
He was not a "disaster" in the first half of last season. What was disastrous was the stick he took from Evertonians who felt they had "special dispensation" to moan, groan and boo so consistently. This obviously affected his confidence, especially as he received no support from the manager but it only served to make those criticising him turn up the volume even more.
They must be very proud.

You are mistaken. Hope this helps.

Oh FFS! sounds like you need to be his social worker instead of bleating on here about the treatment poor Ross has had.

yeah, hauled off half time against Sunderland.

5 goals 8 assists all season, surprised PSG went for Neymar and not him to be honest, he's a worldy lol
Yep, because disaster and world class are the only 2 brackets you can be in.

He actually started the season really well last year (he was widely accepted to be man of the match in the Middlesbrough game which took place 5 days after that Sunderland subbing). He went off the boil and was pretty average for a couple of months before being our best player after Christmas. Pretty standard really, ask Spurs fans how well Alli played for the first couple of months of the season.

I'll be sad to see him go because he's a good player, but we'll manage without him, like we always do.

Reckon Klaassen will easily match his stats from last season, ditto Gylfi.

if it was some top class, week in week out 8 out of 10 performer, I might be a bit more upset.

But this is Ross Barkley we are talking about, and he isn't that spectacular as his return clearly indicates.
The point is you said easily siggurdson has been anything but klassen i really like the look of but is still unproven in this league so to suggest he is easily replaced is ridiculous

..that isn't far from my assumption actually. Under Martinez, Barkley was the centre of the Everton universe, plauded as a phenomenal talent and given little or no responsibility when the opposition had possession. A different manager wanted more from the player. It's the way it is whether we agree with it or not. Everton were going nowhere under Martinez, the new manager was brought in to manage change.

I think he invested a lot of time in trying to improve Barkley's all around game, publicly accepting the players talent but saying he needed to produce more and on a consistent basis. Barkley was no longer centre of the Everton universe, his ego is dented and he wants off.
Its not even that Eggs - the rumours are rife he has to leave the area a good distance away if he ends up at unt then this is a bad rumour - we have lost players before Alan Ball etc not one player is bigger than our club - but bally was special barkley is only potential - what I cannot understand is we sign klassen and then go after a more similar expensive sigi why not just get Sigi in the first place?
Then pay more for a top goalscoring striker?

No mate, I have clearly stated in this thread I think he is decent, but at the end of the day his stats just average for goals, slightly better for assists, so he is a steady premier league footballer.

We are only debating here of course, I am failing to see why anybody feels the need to defend him so vigorously, he's hardly pulled up trees has he? I put it down to him being home grown.

Like you say, we will manage without him, I believe quite comfortably.

...played well in that 2nd half at Sunderland.
Its a fact any performance Ross out in in a defeat only him and Robles to my recollection for his one mistake got publicly criticised by RK
- as I stated I have heard its for totally different reasons, but we may never find out the reason why? Ross has potential he is better than Klassen imo!

Hang on a minute I thought all the Ross fanboys were saying him wanting a move was down to personal reasons unconnected with the club so why all of a sudden are the nasty fans getting the blame? If the fans are the reason he wants a move (and I reiterate the word IF) then Ross is quite possibly one of the most spineless, gutless weaklings to ever wear the Royal Blue Jersey.

I've just said this before.

That said, [the fans] obviously have no bearing whatsoever on Barkley's stupid decision to leave, so it's a moot point.

It doesn't mean what the fans did never happened.
