I think if hes here come 1st Feb he will sign a new deal, he will not want to play at Goodison infront of 40,000 fans who know he wants off - they will turn on him pretty quick. Thats why I think he wants off now to avoid that scenario.

..I think if he’s still here on February 1st he’s definitely wanting a big bucks Bosman. He won’t be bothered in the least about what the fans think of him running down his contract. To be fair to him, he’s perfectly in his rights doing so and it doesn’t bother me at all.

Agree mate, its his right, however we have seen before (especially with the Jags "they are not booing you Ross" video) that he seems to take stuff to heart and be affected by it so I cant imagine he would not give a crap about walking out at Goodison after its known he wants out.

Just my opinion though, but if he wants to make the WC squad he has no choice.

What he may want and what he gets are two different things. Who do you think will be prepared to take a punt on him in January, given that he's had no playing time since May and has undergone major surgery? Especially when you can get him for free in the summer.
Problem is I think that might be Ross’s game to ..

..he’s been turning out at Goodison for over 12 months obviously wanting out.

If he was going to sign a new deal he would have done so by now. No he wants off, and as you say preferably in January. But I just cant see the likes of Chelsea and Spurs taking a chance on how he recovers from what looks like a very bad injury, especially when he is available for f'all in the summer. He won't want to go anywhere else plus there's also the chance our valuation won't be met.

I can see him being with us for the rest of the season. If he plays and is seen to be putting the effort in (and positively affecting results which always helps) then I don't think the fans will be too hard on him. Of course he may stink the place out too which is a high probability seeing has he's hardly kicked a ball since May.

Arsenal are in the same boat with both Sanchez and Ozil and they don't appear to be getting much stick. And Arsenal fans are bigger moaners than us, allegedly.

even now I would love him to stay, lets be honest he would walk straight into our team at the moment we really have missed him this season, do the right thing Ross and sign up again and win back your place in the wc, love to see it but don't think it will happen

Possibly, but I'm in the camp that believe he wants out in January. I'm sure he's still holding onto a belief that he can make the world cup squad. Plus he must know how most of the fans feel towards him over the contract fiasco.

If we know he’s got no intention of either signing or leaving in January he had better not be playing.

I sympathised with him slightly when it looked like he might have an issue wirh Koeman but now I don’t care

The most likely outcome here is that he leaves on a free to Spurs after turning down the Chelsea offer in summer because spurs made him and his agent aware that they would pay stupid wages considering it’s a bosman in summer.

If that’s the case and he’s done us out of £30m because he would rather play for spurs over Chelsea then it’s the biggest rat move in the history of our club and I would rather play Jamie Carragher in midfield than Ross Barkley.

There’s a very real chance that he’s had his head turned on England duty , especially considering the Spurs link and it’s absolutely typical and with a bit of luck he’ll be watching the World Cup in the pub

Think the difference with arsenal is that they aren't arsenal youth products and supporters as well as both being too good for the club, whereas barkley is in no way too good for us.
