I understand Mate but that would be short lived, we would then have to play them after he left and have no experience of playing with the team mates.

Possibly, but I'm in the camp that believe he wants out in January. I'm sure he's still holding onto a belief that he can make the world cup squad. Plus he must know how most of the fans feel towards him over the contract fiasco.

Don’t think his agent cares about World Cup ... only money. Run down his contract is where the money is ... don’t be at all surprised to see he has another “setback” and can’t play for a while . That will seal the deal ..

Think the difference with arsenal is that they aren't arsenal youth products and supporters as well as both being too good for the club, whereas barkley is in no way too good for us.

i think they have been given a hard time over the last couple of years, especially ozil. But i'm sure they're realising that they're going to be a bit in the sh*t next season if they're both gone.

Financially he is worth the risk for a club if they get him for 10-15m. There are a lot of clubs that would pay that for him ... that doesn't mean that Spurs or Chelsea etc will be willing to but someone like westham would. Obviously he won't want to play for those type of clubs and I agree with what you're saying. Unless a top team come in for him I can see him not signing and not playing g for us again and going on a free

He's been training so surely should be involved. If he's not in the squad then we need to ask questions why and how he is getting away with not being there.

I understand that but he played in the behind the scenes game last week, albeit none u23 games so we'll see if he's involved in their next one.

If we use McCarthy as an example of how a hamstring injury can ruin a player, maybe Ross is doing us a favour by not agreeing a new deal.

McCarthy was gone for three and a half months at one stage. Couple that with the length of time it takes to get back to full fitness, probably the same length of time as Barkley currently.

This is the type of player we need more than ever right now, frustrating that we have him in the ranks and just can't use him, as well as the likely outcome of his sale
