why spend £35m on a player in the summer who can’t play for you until January due to injury when you can just sign him in January when he’s fit for far less ?

All signs now point to Chelsea telling him to wait until January which suggests they never had any intention of signing him for £35m meaning we didn’t lose out on any money.

I think he's reffering to the fact that he's realised during his medical at chelsea on trasfer deadline day. He wouldn't be fit till mid December anyway. Then could concentrate on getting fit for a January move where chelsea would offer less then half their original offer and subsequently boost barkley's wages.

Add to that the fact that allerdyce said in yesterdays press conference that ross is fit and been training with the first team and he's also been dropping hints about a deal being agreed before he even got to the club. Imo Sounds to me like barkley's been refusing to play.

We should all just forget about Ross Barkley. The lad is 24 and hasn´t developed since he was 19. He´s not getting in to Chelseas team and wouldn´t get in to ours either after another window when our recruitment is in order. In footballing terms he´ll be an irrelevance.

I highly doubt Barkley refused to play, if he is fit and not playing it will probably be down to a mutual agreeement... the club won’t want to risk him tweaking his hammy again, it would kill our last and only chance of getting a fee for him.
