Barkley played EXACTLY as he had in the past. It's my personal opinion that Koeman added anything to RB's game.
Fixed that for ya Dave

Is that supposed to answer my question about defending RB from those attacks on his ability to take instruction? To link to a post you made in February of this year when no one was on his back about leaving and having ridiculous pot shots at him?
Offer him an improved contract he declines. What else csn the club do?There will be no bidding war: Spurs have Everton over a barrel because this club didn't do it's job in securing him with 18 months on his contract.
Embarrassing for you that the post in question was me talking about his improvement and you denying that it had happened. Is that supposed to answer my question about defending RB from those attacks on his ability to take instruction? Maybe you can find one from the last three months when it's been obvious he was leaving? Show us how you stood out and went against the grain in defending Barkley's improvements this season?
Whatever was offered - and you dont know how much of an improved offer it was, none of us do - whilst seeing a manager telling everyone you are a bit of a failure thus far in your career.Offer him an improved contract he declines. What else csn the club do?
...so there are no such defences of the player in the teeth of this attack on him?Embarrassing for you that the post in question was me talking about his improvement and you denying that it had happened.
You chat that much wham you're the easiest vault on the forum

I wonder why a player with CL clubs as options to go to wouldn't extend his contract under those auspicious circumstances?

My view on him as a player is there for all to see David. I was saying how much he'd improved his all round game last season, you denied it had happened. As that would have meant giving Koeman some credit...so there are no such defences of the player in the teeth of this attack on him?
Ok.
No mate. He is a class player. The best this club has produced since Rooney. He's leaving too, which is a cause for great concern not an opportunity to attack the player - again. He will be at West Brom in 2 seasons. He is right to go and sit on Spurs bench, because that is as good as it will get.
you are not wrong mate. Cuco similarly polarises opinion. My view on him as a player is there for all to see David. I was saying how much he'd improved his all round game last season, you denied it had happened. As that would have meant giving Koeman some credit
My view on his decision to leave has nothing to do with his performances last season. People differ in their view on him, that's how it works, he divides opinion.
Next time there's posters talking about how daft and undeveloped Barkley is I'll link you to it.My view on him as a player is there for all to see David. Unfortunately this seems to be embedded in our footballing culture.I feel this may be somewhat overhyped. He didn't suddenly become boss after Koeman talk, he just started defending a bit more and that was enough to make people think he had improved massively.
I maintain he's now a worse player than he was in the 13/14 season. Over the course of four seasons he's gone from being an exciting attacking threat to someone who comes deep a lot of the time and plays lots of short passes and tries to dictate tempo of game. Not saying that's a bad thing but as is usually the case in England he's had his flair/best attributes coached out of him to try and make him more complete.

And the best player we've produced since Barkley, Dowell, is now playing his football outside the club.
Any rational minded neutral looking in at this club would quickly come to the conclusion that it's an organisation that cant keep or wont keep its very best.
The draining away of talent from this club in recent times has been a disgrace and a slur on the club's traditions.
