The fact our dressing room apparently was full of egos after coming 11th just about sums up everything wrong with modern footballers.

And again. It baffles me why people rely on two stats that don't tell you much to completely judge the output of a footballer. Especially when said stats can be affected by the ball bouncing off someones arse from an initial cross/shot and be counted as an assist/goal.

Well I watch him every match, and it's just opinion v opinion, Tubey. Stats reflect some of the game, otherwise the club's wouldn't invest so heavily into it.

Look at it completely dispassionately through stats.

And by stats I don't just mean goals/assists.

How often do they touch the ball? How often do they create chances? How good are the chances they create? How often do they beat a man which creates space further up the pitch? How far do they carry the ball forwards in a game?

Sigurdsson has a good goalscoring record, a good assist record, but his all round game is poor by PL standards.

When you break it down like that Barkley is far better. He is also 4.5 years younger.

Stats say Tom Cairney is better than Luka Modric mate, they mean next to nothing most of the time
