2017/18 Ross Barkley

Yet he ran the ball more often and had better retained possession stats than Gylfi last season. Much better in both departments by the way.

We will agree to disagree mate, I can't get the Barkley of old out of my head.

So say you are right and Koeman finally improves his game, he still wants out anyway, no idea why the love in for a lad who is turning his back on his club at this stage of the clubs development.

Reading some of this it is perhaps worthwhile pointing out that Ross, good player/average player/rubbish player/Messi, doesnt want to play for Everton.

In fact, Everton wanted him to stay. The club didnt put the lad up for sale, he did that himself.

That's fine, but that doesn't mean I'm going to throw logic out the window and throw him under the bus. I'll continue to be honest. I don't have blue-tinted spectacles.

Because i'm dispassionately judging the player, not the circumstance. I only care about logic. Same when I can admit Coutinho is a very good player, Sturridge would be a sensational striker if he wasn't made of Weetabix etc.

I know he's going; I don't care about that any longer. What I care about is the best balance of talented players being in a blue shirt. My view is losing Barkley needs to be met by replacing him well. Sigurdsson is the best available, but he still isn't going to offer as much as Barkley, so we're downgrading - especially given we've gutted our entire attack in one summer.

So regardless of why he's going, and regardless of our investment this summer, unfortunately we're looking at yet another transitional season were 7th is extremely likely.

Me neither. But the point is, some, not you, are making it seem that Ross going is some terrible error by the club. You could argue the toss if a contract extension should have been offered 6/12 months ago or not mind, granted.

Majority of his best games have come against the top sides and he would of won us a semi final away to city if our manger didn't have the same level of football intelligence as you.

Forgotten more than you know you tool, pipe down.

Absolutely zero chance buddy I've pulled you up before for talking bubbles so now you have to resort to name calling.

lol

Get the fairies out of your head my friend, now let's just agree to disagree.

He's notorious for it mate. Ignore him.

lol

No mate

Somebody chin someone!!!

The side is being re-shaped, so I am sure whatever Barkley brought to the party will be adequately replaced by Sigurdsson, Klaassen and whoever else comes in.

You are coming across a bit as though the floor is going to fall in because Barkley is leaving, Lukaku I can understand, but not this underachiever who has improved about 5% since his debut season 4 years ago.

Nah, I can't make that argument as it's conjecture. If he was forced out a la Michael Ball and we had the evidence, sure. But at most it's a combination of incompetence by the club and the player - there's no point allocating blame without evidence.

But the fact remains, regardless of the reason, that we're losing a fantastic player.
