Latch

Player Valuation: £15m
Blue as [Poor language removed] but the only comedian that has me pissing myself laughing.
He's a millionare despite the fact that he's never been on the tv or ever likely to.
He might not be to everybody's taste but his shows are always a sell out.
Any thought's on this 'cult' figure, good or bad, or any other comedians you like ?

QI moment

He has been on the TV, he played the mayor of Royston Vasey in the League of Gentlemen. The writers of that show actually named the town after Roy Chubby Brown, his real name is Royston Vasey:P :P

''its a [Poor language removed] pleasure''

another (possible) QI moment - wasnt chubs one of if not the first person to have the word '[Poor language removed]' broadcast on british tv?

I saw him last month. Went with my wife, sister and brother-in-law. Funny, but very naughty. And a little Right wing, but what was more disconcerning was the crowds appreciation. The general public just need a push, which makes David Cameron an even more dangerous person.

Anyway, I had reservations, but he was funny. Not my favorite, but good nonetheless.

The dirtiest comic I ever saw on stage, and I have seen stag comics that would make your hair curl, was Bob Monkhouse.....................he was incredibly filthy and a lot less funny for it(y)

With Brown you get what you pay for, he is a sixties comic preserved for today, see B Manning

ok smart arses i was wrong about him never being on the telly but i was thinking more his act.
What d'ya reckon ? funny or not ?

EDIT ~ You replied before i posted this Mont. :D

very clever and very quick in parts. has a sense of humour about himself too, which is good. there was a documentary last year that showed a a slightly less pleasant side to him in his every day life.

a comic of his time, they dont make em like they used to, and sometimes parts of his act make me thankful for that.

still, very humourous in his moments. and very rich off the back of it. not many with a career lasting as long as his in that business.

So are you saying he is racist?

i'll go so far as to say he has some very borderline observations and at times such opinions might have got the better of him.

if i can find a torrent to the documentary i'll pm you the link.

to tell it the way i see it, he courts controversy, recently a few individuals were panned for medelaine mccann punchlines and rhys jones jokes, i find those distasteful, like i find the following distasteful...

[SIZE=-1]"Im not saying all muslims are terrorists, but isnt it funny how all terrorists are muslims" - RCB

you go and see him, you know what you are going to get. personal choice, and freedom of speech.

(no aspersions cast on any of his fans (i have a few of his sets on the hdd) no 'guilty by association lines' from me)

He did have a drink problem and the subsequent family problems associated with it(y)

Do you not think he is speaking for the people there. There are many people who are scared, and rightly so. Sometimes we are unable to say or think what we really feel because we may offend people who may or may not be genuine people.

On one hand we have the muslim who is very much loyal to the Koran, but not extreme. So they don't want to kill people to make a stupid point.

But then we have the extreme muslim who wants to murder innocent people for a cause that has brainwashed him/her into believing they will be rewarded.

Problem is nobody knows who is extreme and who isn't. They don't even have to be from a muslim country originally.

I'm not racist, but I don't trust Muslim people, and I make no bones about it. I know muslims, I have worked with African and Iraqi people, they are Muslim, but it has taken me a while to get to know them and appreciate that they are not likely to strap a bomb to themselves and go and murder innocent people.

But even then, I can't be 100% sure that they are not. So what Roy has said maybe a little general, some terrorists are not Muslims, but I would say a very very high percentage of terrorists are Muslims. Its a scary world we live in, and naivity is going to get the better of us.
