Like you Suits i've got a couple of his videos and i cant say there is anything really offensive in them, just 'blue' and well delivered.
One of his jokes was that the first white man to set eyes on a Kangaroo thought that it was a Greyhound having a [Poor language removed]!
After a few beer's especially that kind of humour has me laughing my head off.

Max Boyce..............................sorry again mate:lol:

Max ain't bad, i went to see him once, about 20 years ago at the then 'Butlin's' complex just outside town, he was funny to he honest,........but only because his act was in English! ;)

Do you not think he is speaking for the people there. no i do not think he is speaking for the people there. There are many people who are scared, and rightly so thats no excuse to fan the flames of social unease. Sometimes we are unable to say or think what we really feel because we may offend people who may or may not be genuine people. be glad of that, because some radicals from home and abroad arent allowed to stir up hatred against you or me or others

On one hand we have the muslim who is very much loyal to the Koran, but not extreme. So they don't want to kill people to make a stupid point. stupid point? see whats wrong there? such a remark is not considered enough and could be deemed as belittling to a non exremist muslim

But then we have the extreme muslim who wants to murder innocent people for a cause that has brainwashed him/her into believing they will be rewarded. the issue with islam has to be faced by islam, as much meddling by the west or catholicism or anything else wont root out the core cause of non-muslim hatred and extremism.

Problem is nobody knows who is extreme and who isn't. They don't even have to be from a muslim country originally. gerry adams, martin mcguinness, theres a whole host of individual terrorists not connected with islam. to overlook such individuals and their organisations is to completely undermine the 'war on terror'

I'm not racist, but I don't trust Muslim people, and I make no bones about it. I know muslims, I have worked with African and Iraqi people, they are Muslim, but it has taken me a while to get to know them and appreciate that they are not likely to strap a bomb to themselves and go and murder innocent people. ''im not racist, but'' - was a documentary on channel four a couple of years ago. terrorism, bombs, killings is not exclusive to islam or any other religion, colour, or creed.

i wonder how certain countries in the east feel as the stealth bombers fly over and wipe out 'hospital after hospital'

But even then, I can't be 100% sure that they are not. So what Roy has said maybe a little general, some terrorists are not Muslims, but I would say a very very high percentage of terrorists are Muslims. Its a scary world we live in, and naivity is going to get the better of us. im all for prevention being better than repair, and my preference for what i consider adequate punishment for serious crimes does include the crime of terrorism.

such attitudes are occasions where stereotypes are born and reinforced. i wonder what percentage of his audiences are not white.

I'm sorry mate I saw him in New Brighton, that is bad enough, he was worse, it was a case that the audience gave the punch line before him, someone told him where he could put his big leek as well, I actually felt sorry for him he was that bad and the look on his face said it all, sad

Well at the moment Suits, I don't see many white people blowing up planes, blowing up trains, destroying buildings, chopping people's heads of on tv.

Thing is, I was in the crowd at Blackpool, and when he "fanned the flames" as you put it, there was a wave of approval and almost a standing ovation.

Would you not agree that society in the UK at the moment prevents people from having opinions. I'm not racist, I'm not going to start bombing people from other races. I'm not going to spit on Muslims in the street, I'm not going to stand up in the middle of London and belittle people who are natural citizens of that country. But this is what I see happening by Muslims. The fact that its the minority doesn't make me feel any safer.

The fact that the next terrorist bomber could be anyone from any Muslim community in this nation is a scary fact.

Do you also expect the Muslim communities to help root out the dangerous cells? Or do you think they support them?

Youre all bad racialists.

I met him in Cyprus a few years back, he was nothing like his on stage persona.

My contributions to tense debates are boss arent they.

[Poor language removed] off (as per RCB's list of witty retorts):P

I agree that he is quite 'dated' now but in the 70's he was a household name and popular as hell.
Almost all his act revolves around Rugby, Welsh or otherwise, but remember that during that period Wales ruled the world in that sport so he was on to a good thing.
The thing that's enduring about him is that he cant stop laughing when he get's near the punch-line, he also peppers his shows with songs so he is a bit of an all-rounder.
He has got a bit of a sad face mind you. :D

i believe hamza for instance was kicked out of a few mosques because the elders at each place of worship wouldnt stand for his bullshit.

no i dont like that he (hamza) is protected by the law.

who blew up the gas works in warrington?
bridge street bombs?
arndale centre?
numerous bombs throughout london?
numerous killings in ireland?
police officers killed?
soldiers snipered in ireland?

what (bombings of) trains, buildings and beheadings have taken place in britain?

google the name 'tim mcveigh'

british society doesnt prevent opinions, people with an education realise there are boundaries to the freedoms of speech.

terrorists want you to not feel safe, thats their goal. if you want a government to allay those fears, vote one in.

" The fact that the next terrorist bomber could be anyone from any Muslim community in this nation is a scary fact." thats not a fact, its bullshit. more bombs have been exploded in britain by the IRA than any muslim sect or branch. theres a fact.

Suits hit on something I thought about doing.

During the [Poor language removed] going on with the IRA, would it be ok to generalise the Irish in such a way?

I have some really spot on Muslim mates who are horrified by whats going on, religion shouldnt come into it. Its just basic human decency.

I understand your from Warrington and what happened was terrible. But are the IRA still running a bombing campaign? Not heard much about it in the news lately.

of course it is but why we are discussing this in a thread about a comic is beyond me.

Prejudice is fueled when the ill informed gets taught by the bigot, and that happens in all societies and religions

right.

once upon a time it was the jews that were the flavour of the comedic month, then the blacks, then the irish.

now its muslims.

all this 'call a spade a spade' stuff, hows about we call racial slurs exactly that.

and im not overly bothered how many bnp members there are in an audience. appealing to the lowest common denominator does not make fine comedy. just my opinion mind you. (no aspersions on any board members made)
