He will go on to be, I'm sure. But a well-run club would have him developing at a good Championship side.

Can anyone actually point out how many times he's put a decent cross in this season (not that we cross enough but we've definitely tried more recently)? I mean, he can't defend brilliantly, but people were saying how good he is offensively... honestly reckon I can count three decent balls he's put in all season.

But we're clueless going forward, he's likely going to be ineffective if the so called proven attackers are so inept. As for learning, baptism of fire at this club in that team. In a slightly better side he'd likely excel !

Well I mean we can say that about a few of our players I'm sure.

He's not that good. He's only 21 so I'm sure he'll improve. Right now, he's a lot to learn.

Dunno about prem level. But when did you last see an Everton midfield camped in the opposition half comfortably penning them in by keeping the ball. Why is it so many Everton players struggle to do the basics. I watch other teams who are not even specifically considered top clubs/teams still look more comfortable than Everton doing this. Look at that Brighton midfield. They do the graft just as much but they all look comfortable on the ball. Everton players look like they've just been introduced to a football. They rush and panic.

Yes I am stating my opinion of course.

I am backing that up with what I've seen so far of him in his short time here. I am yet to see any evidence he is as good as people are making out.

Can you provide me with an example of something he's done particularly well in his time here to support your argument he's actually a decent PL-level full-back?

If we were a well-run club who had a proper succession plan in place for players, Patterson would probably be getting some vital experience on loan at a decent Championship club.

Patterson came from Rangers who are second best to a crap Celtic in a third rate league. It is hardly surprising he is not good enough. I forget how many the RS scored against his former club kn Europe. Was it 11 or 12 in two games?

There's not many PL teams those four get into. They'd never have got a sniff of getting in a decent Everton team.

IMO if Coleman hadn't been recovering from an op at the beginning of the season Patterson would have been left on the bench were he belonged.

If Everton are to be fixed then the fan base has to stop focusing their attention on the symptoms of the problem. Of course the players we have are not good enough, results clearly show this. I don’t know if Frank Lampard is a good enough manager for Everton or if the players he is working with are so poor no one could get a tune out of them. Experience indicates that changing the manager does get us success.
I do know that for some years now we have been getting rid of deadwood but we just keep replacing that deadwood with more deadwood. We continuously need to refresh the squad because they aren’t good enough.
The major decision makers in the club have to be moved on and we need people in place who will start making the right decisions to move us forward.
The fan base have to stay united and do whatever needs to be done to have the present Board sacked and replaced, we need to hold Moshiri to account and apply as much influence as we can to have sell the club or to become the custodian we deserve.
One change at a time, the Board needs to be removed so that we don’t keep repeating the mistakes of the last munger of years. There is absolutely no point in sacking FL and then letting the current decision makers select his replacement, they have failed in this respect so many times.
